Remains of a jukebox...... Designed by Chicago architect Howard Van Doren Shaw in 1917, this neighborhood was created industrialist Clayton Mark. It was a planned community, middle class, with the goal of providing affordable housing, retail and a school. Unfortunately, industry exploded in the area. Refineries, steel, chemical plants. The community is surrounded on all sides. Square blocks have been demolished, the retail cornerstone is abandoned and crumbling (that's where I shot these photos.) Most of the houses are falling apart. Those families that remain, mostly Hispanic, are doing their best to maintain what they have. Difficult, since much is abandoned.
Many are townhouses - one side of the house is abandoned, rotting, roof caved in, while on the other side of the common wall, is a nicely maintained home. Sad, really.
When experiencing unsuppressed sexual desires for a body, do remember that its material existence is temporal.
That body is a ’snapshot’ of flesh in the ageing process between birth & death.

The key to really getting started in life is going beyond the ‘I want I want’ stage and downgrading those perceived needs into preferences.
Not only do preferences provide more options, they reduce dependency on desire. Try it

While I lived in the shared house I'd kept everything. I'd left a life somewhere else & all the incidentals that went with it; I felt a pronounced need to preserve bits of the new; not for definition but for remembrance of the things that now seemed differently important—scraps, tickets, programmes, lists, picked-up-on-a-walk kinds of things. I'd brought clothes with me that neither fitted me nor the decade. Holding on to something I enjoyed the memory of, I cut out the labels before passing on to charity; packaged the spare buttons.

“My whole life is a struggle. When I was a child I had leprosy and ulcers. Then I lost my parents. Then I lost my husband. Now I’m involved with tailoring for rest of life...I have to get food for myself, there’s no one to help me. But I don’t want to marry again. If I hadn't had leprosy, then maybe I would be educated and be able to get a job. Life is not joyful.”

"Today's Etiquette" by Lillian Eichler was written in 1941 but its ideals still hold true.
This etiquette book will school you in the fine art of properly making introductions, setting the table for an elegant meal, writing thank-you letters, extending wedding invitations, and much more. It also includes sections with special etiquette tips for teenagers and children. The book is chock-full of useful advice that is still applicable in modern everyday situations.
In addition to being a handy guide, the book also can be an entertaining read when it comes to a few more quaint and antiquated customs, such as the use of calling cards:
"A caller does not, on any occasion, carry in his card and present it like a billet d'admission. Visiting cards are placed on the card tray offered by the butler, or on the card tray near the door if there is no butler."

North Carolina National Guard Soldiers put their engineering skills to the test at the NCNG’s armory in Butner N.C., July 25. The engineers use their annual training to improve their skills and readiness while upgrading NCNG facilities. “It is with training for them (Soldiers) and it costs less than if we hired someone to do it,” said Tony Ferguson, a retired NCNG Army Colonel and current NCNG contractor.
