IN THIS IMAGE A MAN PLAY HIS SELFBUILT VIOLIN WHILE THE SCIAMANO DANCE BEATING HIS FEET GIVEN A RHYTHM WITH A RATTLES SNAKE TAILS ON HIS ANKLE.

PHOTO TAKEN ON 1978 AND SCANNED WITH A EPSON V550.

The entrance steps to the surau / prayer hall cum community space. The Arabic writing on the signpost is its name "Langgar Rindu".

the space under the surau or prayer hall which appears to be used as a semi-indoors resting place by the caretaker.

This is unique. It's a car that the owner has built from scratch. Built his own chassis and body, only using the technical components of various cars. The rear axle and gearbox are Daf (33). Motor is Renault 5 1.1, now with injection built on it. It has a convertible roof. And drives 1 litre on 11 km with caravan.

One morning I saw a Daf driving to our camping, while we were leaving. Lucky us. A Belgian Daf, that's rare. Later that day, back on the camping, I heard a two-cylinder sound and then saw a Daf Van drive by. That cannot be a coincidence! During a walk on the (large) camping we found out that the Daf Club attended the same Ardennes camping as we did. Lucky us.

Tarodi Var is a castle in Sopron, Hungary which was built by one family in the 1950s. It is complete with turrets, bridges, arches and towers. Part of it is open to the public, and is filled with dusty antique furniture and forgotten old paintings.

Hey, it is me. James Kyle. Let's present myself. Before the apocalypse, I was a soldier in the army, but never in a real fight. But at home, I trained fighting. And in my free time, I went outside and tried to surviving. I know, that is a weird hobby, but hey, now I can live here! If you wonder where I get this weapons and the stuff... Let's say I was in trouble... I won't tell you more at the moment, but I had to fight.

This is kinda my real first custom. I tried to paint stuff earlier, but it was neve good. But I think, the camo turned out pretty well.

My cat focussing on his favorite toy. As I did not own a macro lens back then this shot was taken with a medium format lens from the 70's (Carl-Zeiss Biometar 2.8/80) attached to my Nikon via extension rings and selfbuilt adapter made of duct tape, a bicycle tube and an old Nikon body cap.

a nightly view of an overpass in shinjuku, tokyo. underneath the overpass were multiple selfbuilt tents that were the home for some of tokyo's homeless.

Young and old meeting. Or rather going in opposite directions...

This afternoon I stumbled over this rare gem of technology when cruising around in a rural area not too far from my place.

This guy built a bike around an old agricultural stationary single cylinder Diesel engine. Not street legal of course (watch the headlight) but nobody really cares around there...

These are customers of ours here in Amsterdam, though this bike is not a Workcycles. It's either an older 't Mannetje or Fietsfabriek with a box and electric conversion by the owner. The family calls it the "popemobile".

Thanks for the visit, have a wonderfull weekend

(I admit I got a bit carried away :D)

Architects; Peter Aldington, self built in late 60s. After passing under the roof of last photo you enter this walled garden laid out in a formal cruciform layout outlined with railway wooden logs. The old wall with a arched opening leads you to a near perfect courtyad or 'open to sky room' would be a better description.

If I had to highlight one Y2011 photography-related event, it probably would be building something that counts as a polaroid view camera. And getting those images exhibited in a real gallery.

... displaying at Torbay Airshow 2018, Devon, England.

The Paper House is literally a house made of paper; over 200 layers of newspaper (and lots varnish) make up the well-insulated walls. As top layers of the walls chip away, bits of old newspaper clippings are visible. Inside, the furniture is made out of paper. The house was built in the early 1922 and still stands firm and sound today. Mr. Elis F. Stenman, a mechanical engineer who designed the machines that make paper clips, began building his Rockport summer home out of paper as a hobby.
