Ich weiß dass die Bibliothek in Stuttgart schon oft fotografiert wurde, aber einmal wollte ich es auch selber machen. Ein wirkliche tolles Gebäude was mich sehr beeindruckt hat.
I know that the library in Stuttgart has been photographed many times, but once I wanted to do it myself. A real great building which impressed me a lot.
Anlässlich des 25-jährigen Bestehens der Ufa-Filmstudios kam 1943 – also Mitten im Zweiten Weltkrieg – der mit grossem Aufwand und Starbesetzung produzierte Farbfilm «Münchhausen» in die Kinos. Er erzählte – wie passend für einen vom Propagandaminister persönlich in Auftrag gegebenen Film - die Lebensgeschichte des bekannten und populären «Lügenbarons» Hieronymus von Münchhausen. Der Film sollte ausdrücklich ein Unterhaltungs- und kein Propagandafilm sein. Das Drehbuch schrieb der eigentlich mit Berufsverbot belegte Schriftsteller Erich Kästner unter Pseudonym. Einige Dialoge enthalten trotz strenger Zensur potentiell subversive Äusserungen. So antwortet Münchhausen seinem Diener Christian, als dieser bei einem Blick auf die Uhr des Barons feststellt, entweder müsse die Uhr kaputt sein, oder die Zeit selber: «Die Zeit ist kaputt, Christian.»
Mehr ist auch heute nicht zu sagen.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Ufa film studios, the color film "Münchhausen," produced at great expense and with a star-studded cast, was released in 1943 - in the middle of World War II. It told the life story of the well-known and popular "Liar Baron" Hieronymus von Münchhausen - as was fitting for a film commissioned by the Minister of Propaganda himself. The film was expressly intended to be an entertainment film and not a propaganda film. The screenplay was written by the writer Erich Kästner, who was actually banned from his profession, under a pseudonym. Despite strict censorship, some dialogues contain potentially subversive statements. For example, Münchausen replies to his servant Christian when the latter, looking at the baron's watch, sais that either the watch must be broken, or time itself: "Time is broken, Christian."
That's all there is to say today, too.

Sehr interessant ist, dass die vielen geschlüpften Jungvögel nicht nur von ihren Eltern gefüttert werden, sondern auch von „Freunden“ und Verwandten der Familie, die selber keine Nachkommen haben.
Die Schwanzmeise ist mit den Meisen nicht enger verwandt, sie gehört zu den Grasmückenartigen.

Lo and behold, it's Poppy Day again. I'm surprised myself how many different shots I brought back from just three different locations.
Somehow they are quite similar to some extent and yet they are not. I have no idea if you understand what I mean by that.
In any case, their specificity is enough to post them all.
I've counted it, we'll still have about two months of Poppy day as my monday flower greetings. Unless I bring one here and there in the middle of the week.
Und siehe da, schon ist wieder Mo(h)ntag. Ich bin selber überrascht, wie viele verschiedene Aufnahmen ich von nur drei verschiedenen Standorten mitgebracht habe.
Irgendwie sind die sich schon teilweise recht ähnlich und trotzdem auch wieder nicht. Ich hab keine Ahnung ob ihr versteht was ich damit meine.
Auf jeden Fall reicht ihre jeweilige Besonderheit aus um sie alle zu posten.
Ich hab mal durchgezählt, wir werden noch ungefähr zwei Monate Mo(h)ntage haben. Es sei denn ich bring hier und da mal eins schon mitte der Woche.

I've just come from a several-hour exploration tour of mt. Triebenberg near Dresden. Yesterday evening, driving by, saw a mountain some distance away that was covered in icy trees. As it turned out when I reached the place today, it was this mt. Triebenberg, with a height of 383 m the highest elevation in the city of Dresden.
What awaited me there was absolutely fascinating and breathtaking. Not only the great view of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains with mt. Lilienstein in the foreground were worth the strenuous climb (my car is parked down there somewhere in the valley). Every single tree, almost every single branch, had been transformed into a true work of art by the ice and wind.
I brought some photos from the trip. So you will soon have your own impression.
Ich komme gerade von einer mehrstündigen Erkundungstour des Triebenberges in der Nähe von Dresden. Gestern Abend, im Vorbeifahren habe in einiger Entfernung einen Berg gesehen, der voller vereister Bäume war. Wie sich herausstellte, als ich heute den Ort erreicht hatte, war es eben dieser Triebenberg, mit einer Höhe von 383 m die höchte Erhebung der Stadt Dresden.
Das, was mich dort erwartete war absolut faszinierend und atemberaubend. Nicht nur die großartige Aussicht auf das Elbsandsteingebirge mit dem Lilienstein im Vordergrund waren den anstrengenden Aufstieg wert (mein Auto parkt dort unten irgendwo im Tal). Jeder einzelne Baum, ja fast jeder einzelne Ast war von Eis und Wind zu einem wahren Kunstwerk umgestaltet worden.
Ich habe einige Fotos von dem Ausflug mitgebracht. Somit werdet Ihr Euch in Kürze selber einen Eindruck verrschafft haben.

Die Füchsin kam uns so nah, dass schon fast die Naheinstellungsgrenze meines Objektivs unterschritten war. Ganz sicher war sie Menschen gewohnt und wahrscheinlich bekommt sie auch mal was. Nach einer Weile ist sie dann selber auf Mäusejagd gegangen.
The vixen came so close to us that it almost fell below the close-up limit of my lens. She was certainly used to people and probably also gets something. After a while she left to hunt for mice herself.
It's time now for the weekly dose of poppy. Sorry, but I still have some left. I'm surprised by that by myself, because after I didn't find the fields of the last years, I accepted already, that there would be no poppy field photos from me this year. Not with all the will in the world I could reckon that the two spot I found later would produce so many photos I like. Because I try to to make a good mixture in my posts, this will still extend for awhile.
Es ist mal wieder Zeit für die wöchentliche Dosis Mohn. Sorry, ich hab immer noch ein paar ürbrig. Das verwundert mich selber, denn nachdem ich alle Felder aus den letzten Jahren nicht mehr gefunden habe, hatte mich schon damit abgefunden, dass es in diesem Jahr wohl keine Bilder von Mohnfeldern von mir geben wird. Das dann diese zwei Spots, die ich später gefunden habe, so viele Fotos hervorbringen würden die mir gefallen, damit hatte ich beim besten Willen nicht gerechnet. Da ich bei meinen Post immer versuche eine Mischung hinzu bekommen zieht sich das jetzt eben etwas hin.

Gesehen im Teufelsmoor
Nach dem Ausfliegen werden die Jungen Singdrosseln noch eine Zeitlang von ihren Eltern mit Nahrung gefüttert.
Diese hier muss sich vermutlich inzwischen selber versorgen, aber sie hofft natürlich immer noch, dass die Eltern mit Futter kommen.

After three to five years of growing from seed to a mature plant, Teide bugloss blooms with a cone-shaped inflorescence up to three meters from light pink to purple-red. I myself am 1.78 m/3.28084ft tall. This year's inflorescences towered over me by at least 50 cm/1.64 ft.
With this picture, which also shows the caldera of the Teide, I wanted to clarify in which environment the Teide bugloss grows. In winter the caldera of the Teide has up to -10 C/14 F and in summer up to +30 C/86 F. Snow can fall for a short time in winter. The rest of the year, there is little to infrequent rain because the caldera is above the cloud line.
Only when the trade wind clouds reach the necessary height of over 2000 meters/6561 ft, their remnants occasionally move over the plateau and leave moisture in tiny droplets.
Since the caldera is located at an altitude of 2000-2400 meters/6561 - 7874 ft and thus the cloud line, the vegetation is exposed to high UV radiation most of the day.
It is amazing that such a hostile environment can produce such an imposing plant. In English it is called "Tower of Jewels", a very appropriate and in addition poetic name, I think.
Nach drei bis fünf Jahren blüht der Teide-Natternkopf mit einem kegelförmigen Blütenstand von bis zu drei Metern von hellrosa bis violettrot. Ich selber bin 1,78 cm groß. Die diesjährigen Blütenstände überragten mich um mindestens 50 cm.
Mit diesem Bild, das auch die Caldera des Teide zeigt, wollte ich verdeutlichen, in welcher Umgebung der Teide-Natternkopf wächst. Im Winter herrschen in der Caldera des Teide bis zu -10 Grad und im Sommer bis zu +30 Grad. Im Winter kann kurzzeitig Schnee fallen. Im Rest des Jahres regnet es wenig bis selten, weil die Caldera über der Wolkengrenze liegt.
Nur wenn die Passatwolken die notwenig Höhe von über 2000 Metern erreichen, ziehen ihrer Reste ab und zu über das Hochplateau und hinterlassen Feuchtigkeit in winzigen Tröpfchen.
Da die Caldera auf eine Höhe von 2000-2400 Metern und damit der Wolkengrenze liegt, ist die Vegetation die meiste Zeit des Tages der hohen UV-Strahlung ausgesetzt.
Es ist erstaunlich, dass eine solche lebensfeindliche Umgebung eine solche imposante Pflanze hervorbringen kann. In Englisch heißt sie »Tower of Juwels«, in Deutsch übersetzt »Juwelenturm«, ein sehr passender und dazu noch poetischer Name, wie ich finde.
What is here looking like the gate to hell is a passage through the rocks. The sun, that is just shown up on my left side, is iluminating the walls in the inside, while my side is still laying in the shadow. I was surprised by myself, when I saw that effect accidentally. Shortly afterwards, when it was brighter overall, it was almost not visible anymore.
Before You ask, Yes, I did increase the effect just a tiny little bit.
Was hier aussieht wie der Eingang zur Hölle ist ein Durchgang im Felsen. Die Sonne, die soeben links von mir aufgegangen ist erleuchtet die Wände im Inneren, während die mir zugewandte Seite im Schatten liegt. Ich war von dem Effekt selber überrascht als ich ihn durch Zufall wahrgenommen hat. Kurze Zeit später, als es insgesamt deutlich heller wurde, war davon nicht mehr viel zu erkennen.
Bevor jemand fragt, Ja, ich hab den Effekt ein ganz klein wenig verstärkt.

For a while last year I had the "tradition" of celebrating every Monday with a flowers. greeting
I still think the idea is a good one and I want to continue doing so in the future. Firstly because I think it's a nice way to start the week and secondly because these beautiful works of nature in my gallery just get neglected.
In preparation for this, I put together a bouquet of flowers myself shortly before Christmas and organized a small photo shoot with the "members". You have to make do as long as nothing is blooming outside. This beautiful elegant rose was one of them.
With that, I wish you all a successful start into the week.
Ich hatte im letzten Jahr eine Zeit lang die "Tradition" jeden Montag mit einem Blumengruß zu begehen.
Ich finde die Idee immer noch gut und will das in Zukunft fortführen. Zum einen, weil ich finde, dass es eine schöne Art ist, die Woche zu beginnen und zum anderen, weil diese wunderschönen Kunstwerke der Natur in meiner Galerie sonst einfach zu kurz kommen.
In Vorbereitung dessen habe ich mir kurz vor Weihnachten selber einen Blumenstrauß zusammengestellt und mit den "Mitgliedern" ein kleines Fotoshooting veranstaltet. Man muss sich ja behelfen, so lange draußen noch nichts blüht. Diese wunderschöne elegante Rose war eines davon.
Mit ihr wünsche ich Euch allen einen erfolgreichen Wochenstart.

Dieses Bild ist kurz nach Sonnenaufgang auf dem Niederhorn im Berner Oberland entstanden. Leider war die Fernsicht nicht so wie ich mir das gewünscht hatte, und der kleine Teich empfand ich mit dem trüben HIntergrund eher langweilig. Da musste ich selber noch ein wenig mehr kreativ werden und habe mal kleine Kieselsteine in den Teich geworfen, der Effekt gefällt mir sehr gut, ich hoffe Euch allen auch?

Unfortunately, the distant view was not as I had wished for, and the small pond I felt with the gloomy background rather boring. It is well known that the lakes in the Upper Engadine freeze at an altitude around 1800 metres in winter, and I wanted to experience this for myself. I travelled there in mid-February in the most beautiful weather - and it was far too warm for the time of year! But the Lake Sils was frozen and I - like many others - hiked across it to the mouth of the Aua da Fedoz. There, however, the lake was open and formed gorgeous ice sculptures. I just had to make sure that the ice under my feet was stable enough, a cold bath would have been a bit unpleasant...
Es ist bekannt, dass die Seen im Oberengadin auf rund 1800 Meter im Winter gefrieren, und das wollte ich einmal selber erleben. Mitte Februar bin ich bei schönstem Wetter hingereist - und es war viel zu warm für die Jahreszeit! Doch der Silsersee war zugefroren und ich bin - wie viele andere auch - darüber gewandert bis zur Flussmündung der Aua da Fedoz. Dort war der See allerdings offen und bildete wunderschöne Eisskulpturen. Ich musste beim Fotografieren nur gut aufpassen, dass das Eis unter meinen Füssen stabil genug war, ein kaltes Bad wäre etwas unangenehm gewesen...
Uns selber bleibt nur eines zu tun: stehen bleiben, uns öffnen und staunen, über das, was zwischen zweidrei Pulsschlägen geschieht und endlos gültig ist, weil es nie wieder geschieht.

Dieser alte Topf stand vergammelt hinter einem Haus. Die Besitzerin war verstorben und die Nachfolger hatten kein Interesse an dem Topf. So habe ich ihn gerettet, geputzt und zu neuem Leben verholfen.
Dieser Rosenstrauß plus Topf waren jetzt ein Geschenk für eine Freundin, die leidenschaftlich alte Sachen und Rosen liebt. Ich selber mag lieber schlichte Vasen aus Glas, aber jeder hat seine Vorlieben, gell. :)
This old pot stood scruffy behind a house. The owner had died and the followers had no interest in the pot. That's how I saved it, cleaned it and brought it to new life.
This rosebouquet plus the pot were now a gift for a girlfriend who loves passionately old things and roses. I prefer simple glass vases, but everyone has their own preferences, isnt´t it. :)
I have no idea what this cute little nuthatch found, it looks like a seed, but it seems to taste good. Do you see his little tongue ? To kneel.
Balance is usually very important to me when choosing the subjects I post. But in the last few days and weeks I have taken so many photos of flowers and birds that I like so much that I have to ignore this rule for a short time. So these two motifs will now receive a little more attention. I hope that's ok for you. And I can promise one thing to everyone who misses the landscape shots. In this regard, I still have a few things planned for this year.
Keine Ahnung, was dieser süße kleine Kleiber da gefunden hat, sieht aus wie ein Samenkorn, doch es scheint ihm sichtlich zu schmecken. Seht Ihr die kleine Zunge von ihm ? Zum niederknien.
Normalerweise ist mir die Ausgewogenheit bei der Wahl der Motive, die ich poste, sehr wichtig. Doch in den letzten Tagen und Wochen habe ich so viele Fotos von Blumen und Vögeln gemacht, die mehr selber alle so gut gefallen, dass ich diese Regel für eine kurze Zeit ausser Acht lassen muss. Diese beiden Motive werden jetzt also ein wenig mehr Aufmerksamkeit erhalten.
Ich hoffe mal, dass ist ok für Euch. Und allen, die die Landschaftsaufnahmen vermissen kann ich eins versprechen. In dieser Hinsicht habe ich für dieses Jahr noch einiges geplant.

Ich hatte das Glück drei juvenile Baumfalken mit ihren Eltern beobachten zu können.
Juvenile Baumfalken werden im Bereich des Horstes den ganzen Sommer lang von den Eltern versorgt,
Gegen Ende August können die Jungen nicht nur richtig fliegen und Futter von den Eltern in der Luft übernehmen, sie können mittlerweile auch selber Beute machen.
Im Spätsommer zieht der Baumfalke nach Afrika, wo er südlich der Sahara überwintert.

Für das Bild wurden 2 Belichtungen (selber Standpunkt, selbe Brennweite, kurz nacheinander) in PS zusammengeblendet.
30s für den Vodergrund, 0,5s für den Mond... Das sind 6 Blenden Unterschied...
Schwäne sind fast die Einhörner der Weiher und der Lüfte, so sehr gleichen sich die Betrachtungsweisen. Die sehr schönen und stolz erscheinenden Vögel haben schon seit jeher die Fantasie der Menschen angeregt. Die Kelten sahen in den Schwänen die Schutztiere der Barden und Sänger – und das erscheint uns auch heute noch glaubhaft. Ein schöner Weiher oder kleiner See mit einem ruhig dahingleitenden Schwanenpärchen ist ein zauberhaftes Bild und dringt direkt in die Seele. Dahin, wo die alten Märchen und Legenden ihre Heimat haben. Der Schwan zeigt uns also an, dass wir – so wie das hässliche Entlein – unsere Schmerzen hinter uns lassen und zum Licht aufsteigen können. Selbstbewusstsein ist hier ebenfalls ein Schlüsselwort. Aber er warnt auch, der Wundervogel der Sagen und Legenden. Wer sich selber als Schwan sieht, obwohl er erst dazu werden muss, der ist nichts außer eitel und von sich eingenommen. Hier wird die Eleganz zur Pose, die alles auf das Äußerliche reduziert.

Der Steinschmätzer gilt in Deutschland als vom Aussterben bedroht. Ich selber kannte ihn noch nicht bevor ich ihn fotografierte und freute mich, dass ich von den selten gewordenen Exemplaren einen entdecken konnte.
Das Bild musste ich leider stark ausschneiden, so das die Qualität nicht mehr so klasse ist.

I saw a photo of a tree root in b/w in a gallery in Heidelberg a few years ago. I immediately fell in love with the picture. Only the price was much too high for me. Then I thought to myself, you can do that yourself. I have been looking for a similar root for a long time. Only now, on holiday in Switzerland, I found it. Similar, but beautiful.
Ich habe vor einigen Jahren in einer Galerie in Heidelberg ein Foto einer Baumwurzel in S/W gesehen. Ich hatte mich sofort in das Bild verliebt. Nur der Preis war für mich viel zu hoch. Dann dachte ich mir, dass kannste auch selber machen. Solange suche ich nach einer ähnlichen Wurzel. Jetzt erst, im Urlaub in der Schweiz, habe ich sie gefunden. Ähnlich, aber wunderschön.
Es ist heute modern, Dinge die man nicht mehr braucht, in den Straßenraum abzustellen. Kleidung, Bücher, Spielsachen die gerne von anderen Menschen mitgenommen werden. Leider werden anonym auch Matrazen, Kühlschränke, Autoreifen und vieles mehr illegal auf die Straße gestellt.
Sobald die Müllabfuhr-BSR Kenntniss von einer illegalen Mülldeponie im Straßenraum hat, kommt sie und entsorgt ihn.
Bei der städtischen Müllabfuhr-BSR gibt es die Möglichkeit seinen gesamten Hausrat kostenlos zu entsorgen, man muss ihn nur selber hinbringen oder die BSR holt ihn gegen ein Entgeld auch ab.

Then the light was switched on again, the developer was poured into it and the can was moved evenly for about 5 minutes. Finally, the development chemistry was distributed and replaced by the fixation. Move again for a few minutes. Then it just needed watering. In the end, always the exciting question: Did I take good pictures and made no mistake in the development. This tension no longer occurs in digital photography. Sometimes a pity!
Über 30 Jahre lang habe ich meine Kleinbild- und auch Rollfilme selber entwickelt. Die Filme wurden bei völliger Dunkelheit auf diese Spirale geschoben und dann in die dazugehörige Dose mit lichtdichtem Deckel gestellt. Anschließend konnte das Licht wieder eingeschaltet werden, der Entwickler wurde hineingeschüttet und die Dose ca. 5 Minuten gleichmäßig bewegt. Zum Schluss wurde die Entwicklungschemie ausgeschüttet und durch die Fixierung ersetzt. Nochmal einige Minuten lang bewegen. Dann brauchte nur noch gewässert werden. Am Ende immer die spannende Frage: Habe ich gut fotografiert und auch keinen Fehler bei der Entwicklung gemacht. Diese Spannung kommt bei der Digitalfotografie nicht mehr auf. Manchmal schade!

Weitere Popcornbestände, die man bei sich hat, sollte man nicht offen zeigen. Die allgemein friedlichen Berberaffen haben kräftige und flinke Finger, damit können sie sich ihre Gage auch schon mal selber aus der Jackentasche holen.

Auf so einem schicken BMW habe ich 1974 meinen Führerschein gemacht, das war ein BMW 1602 der war allerdings in Gelb, so einen Orangen habe ich dann später selber besessen, ein BMW 2002ti!

Diese Klosterschüler in Sri Lanka, aber rauch in allen anderen Asiatischen Ländern fangen schon in jungen Jahren mit ihrer Lehre an. Viele bleiben ihr Leben lang im Kloster. Die meisten aber gehen nach zwei- bis drei Jahren wieder zurück in ihr normales Leben. Die Akzeptanz zum Buddhismus bleibt aber auch deswegen so groß. Die Schüler brauchen sich somit auch nicht selber mit Speisen und Getränken versorgen. Sie gehen durch die Strassen und leben von Spenden. Viele Asiaten gehen aber auch zu den Klöstern und spenden ihre Gaben direkt vor Ort.

Als Gesamtkunstwerk ist die gesamte Abtei eine der wichtigsten romanischen Anlagen in Italien. Der abgeschrankte Fußboden ist z. T. aus dem 7. Jh. Die Kirche selber stammt aus dem 9. Jh und entspricht dem ravennatischen Typus einer Basilika. Die Arkadensäulen sind römische und byzantinische Spolien. Die Wandfresken sind im Stile bolonesischer Wandmalereien erstellt und aus dem 14. Jh. Mittlerweile wird die Kirche auch wieder sakral genutzt.
