So happy I am in a flow
Coming to moms garden
Seizing the moment
Even tho we were in a bit of a hurry
Happy clicking moms flowers
Spring had sprung
Sigh, EvaThrilled was on
Today Spring has gone
Snow has fallen
Covering definitely it all
Freezing my fingers off
So happy I enjoyed my moments when I had the chance
My hair always gets its silverwhite color when sun shines on it ☀️
Summer is on
At least today
Yesterday was freezing
Enjoying the moments is my middle name 😁
We have so much stuff to do, so it's not easy to seize the day.
I asked myself what is important in my life.
Pros and contras.
The small joys and tiny things comes in my pro column.
The smile I gave a stranger, the hug I gave and received from a loved one, the nice cup of coffee I enjoyed, the awareness I felt so alive when I enjoyed the company of one dear to me, bringing the light out to those who need an extra boost, comforting words given from my heart, trying to bring optimism into someone who needs the little extra.
There are so many things that bring joy into my life.
The contra column has become a tiny list, as I'm clearing out the stress in my life and people I know that don't benefit me.
It doesn't come easy tho, there is quite an amount of work that has to be done.
I have a life to live, sometimes it has been within strict limits, but I never give up the light within.
I have definitely become a Carpe Diemmer😄.
Sometimes there doesn't need to be anything special about a site or building (like being on the Register of Historic Places) to be worthy of a photograph. Driving by this farm with its great red barn and a field full of beautiful yellow flowers required a stop and the result you see here...most of the time, my photograph subjects are planned, researched, and sought out but others just fall in your lap and you have to seize those moments when you find them!!
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

We were in the mountains after spending a long day exploring and enjoying nature. We stopped in a small campground clear off to give the kids some time for necessary relief (*ahem - otherwise known as potty break lol) The sun was setting but we were surrounded by dense forest so there wasn't too much light. As I walked through the forest edge waiting on a few stragglers I saw the way the sun was setting through the trees and it was illuminating this tiny patch of tall grass. I knew I had to get it. And the sun was setting rapidly enough I didn't have time to switch out my lens from my 85mm. What I wanted was to get the light coming through the tops of the trees but the scale between the tiny patch of grass and the tall tree tops was pretty dramatically different. The only way I could get it was turning my camera vertical and setting it on the ground. Literally a belly shot! ;) The kids loaded back into the van and I emerged from the forest dirty and smiling. My husband doesn't even ask anymore why I'm dirty, he just smiles and says "Did you get what you wanted?"
Haha!
This particular trip was one of my favorites of the Fall season. Why is it that mid fall the sunlight seems more rich, more vibrant? It's a different sunset than a summer one. Maybe it's the autumnal colors that it's shining through... I don't know, sometimes I don't care what the explanation is. I love believing it's just another magical touch of the Autumn season. :)
On another note can you believe it's November already? At last it's beginning to feel as if Autumn is really truly about to be gone...:( We had a lot of snow hit us on the 31st. It really looked like a Winter Wonderland! Currently stocking up on firewood and making plans to celebrate with most of my family for Thanksgiving. And trying to slow time down and take every day as the treasure it is regardless of seasons...
Oh, oh I almost forgot! For a Winter project I've been working on my graphic design degree online. This has taken me into a lot of fun and interesting direction. As I had many of my photographer friends asking for logos and watermarks I decided to make some up. The majority of people buying them are portrait and wedding photographers. I would love input on what would make a good design for more landscapes? More of a watermark and not a logo I guess? I'd love to expand and I would love your feedback on the link below.
Alright, my coffee is cold and other responsibilities are calling. Coming here is like talking to old friends, it's hard to stop. Thank you for always listening to me! <3
xx,
Rachel

The clouds, the light, the river sound in the background, some days it all comes together and we are fortunate to be there just in that moment.Carpe diem.
Spring
We are waiting for you
We will not give up
You came
And you disappeared
Orange is the new White
We hoped
It became visa versa
White snow all over the place
But at least you did come
Cherishing the moments
Carpe Diem
Enjoying my everyday
Seize your Day
How important it is to seize the day
Yes, it is easy to see when the day is over
You forgot today too
Didn't you
Perhaps you don't even want to dwell over it
Because you know it will hurt knowing that you didn't take the time
Time for what you might ask
You have lost some important stuff on your way
If you don't even know
What about
Time to bond with the people you have dearest
Time to use on your grandkids, wow time flies you say - and you don't do anything about it
Bonding is the answer, not buying stuff, but use your precious time
Time to show your loved ones the small gestures
Yes thank you, my BMW would be happy to be washed
I don't need bought flowers or jewelry
No thank you
We need gestures
We need love
Time to use on your own development
Time to use on your fabulous new hobby
Grab your cam and stop time, capture the moment
Amazing
Time to enjoy a nice cup
Time to enjoy reading the book you've got for Christmas
Time to move that butt out of the couch
Time to exercise
Time to start that new hobby of yours
Time to stop and respect yourself
Not only use the time, but be aware of it, cherish it
If you want to stop time you need to do something else then all the other days.
As easy as that
It is easier to stress along
Especially if you hope that someone acknowledges you and your doings
Oh, what a busy person you are
We all see that you are important
Doing what all the others are doing
It's indeed a stressful life
And do we want it like that
It sure looks like
We are like sheeps, no will of our own
It's the easy way
You might buy an expensive apartment or house, because that is expected of you
Happy now?
Now you are stuck, you need 2 incomes
Too bad
You need time to dwell upon if you are on your right path in life
It's only you who can make the changes
You need space to think
Perhaps seize the day became a bit more important
Perhaps not
We all have choices
It's pretty cool
And pretty scary
We can't actually blame others
Sorry
No can do
Amen
This is another shot on top of the planet.

Have a great weekend!
The following is the original story.
I passed by the newly opened Larry Berg Flight Path Park on the way home. It was not raining. So I stopped for a few minutes and tried to get a few shots. I only had my X10 compact with me. But I was lucky to have the kid on the top of globe and the plane in the same moment.
Who said photographers do not need a liitle bit of luck?
Happy Sunday!

One from a misty day back in March of last year. The sun made one last appearance prior to setting, before being shrouded again in cloud. I was hoping for something else a bit further on, but realised I was probably too late so grabbed a frame here on my way past whilst I had the chance!

After these terrible months, we all have to be thankful for what we have and seize every moment. You never know when things can change.

This quote really resonates with me. I have always struggled with making big decisions in my life.
Last August I changed jobs from working for myself to doing what I love which is working with children as an Early Childhood Educator. It was a very very difficult decision, knowing that there would be many sacrifices to be made. One of which was to have a lot less time for photography among many other things. But over all it's been a really great move for me and feel so thankful I seized the moment. Who couldn't love working with babies and receiving hugs all day.
