* I took this shot following a good meal at one of my favourite hotels in France . The La Chaîne d’Or is situated in the little town Les Andelys in Normandy. The Hotels setting is quiet and charming and its literally right on the edge of the Seine.
So it was no hardship after dinner to step on to the river bank with a camera and watch the sky light up the river . Good French cuisine and wine in a tranquil setting plus a sunset . It appeared that I threw a six that day

After a stroll through Les Jardines Tuileries, this is the view that greeted us as we crossed the River Seine. We didn't make it all the way to La Tour Eiffel this time but this view was good enough for me!

The river Seine meandering east and west of Rouen towards the sea offers some superb landscape photography opportunities, as here at the Panorama du Plessis near Amfreville-sous-les-Monts. It's a mostly quiet, sleepy area largely overlooked by tourists.
