For Looking Close on Friday - Seeds
Some flax seeds in a scoop that was given to me by some lovely ladies in a local zero waste shop. The little seeds envelope I made for another challenge recently.
A late entry after another busy day with my gorgeous grandson. We've been pirates today me hearties!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. We are having our family over for a barbecue. It's so lovely to be able to get together again.
Not the most endearing of terms - yet many plants are still sublimely beautiful when they head towards and reach seedtime.
Can;t believe that nearly 4 years have passed since I took this!

This massive residential development sits on land in Etobicoke fronting on Lakeshore drive. The land was originally developed in the 20's and 30's with a string of motels which serviced tourists visiting Toronto and the area became known as the Lakeshore motel strip.
They prospered initially reaching their zenith in the 1950's but by the 1970's tourist trade had all but disappeared and the motels had become seedy and ill maintained, home to prostitutes, strippers, and the desperate. They struggled on into 2012 when the last of them fell to the wreckers ball. Redevelopment was initially slowed by turmoil in the financial markets but in recent years has progressed rapidly and continues even into today.

“ARTERIES HARDENED AND LUNGS blackened just by opening the door of the Weak Signal Bar and Grill. The seedy crowd brought plenty of colorful terminology to mind, but “health conscious” and “long life span” were not among them.”

My photographic mission throughout June and early July has been to prove to myself that there is more than one way to photograph a field of poppies. It does not necessarily have to include a huge field in an especially scenic location. I found recently that when using the long end of a zoom creatively anything is possible. There is literally a whole new world to be discovered. That's the great thing about photographing the landscape. We can find worlds within worlds!

An amused locomotive engineer gives a friendly wave to a crazy foreign photographer who was kneeling in a trackside field of wildflowers in the Saraphi District of Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.
