She really liked the grapes from the Farmer's Market. It took a lot of convincing, but Julian really liked them, too.

Having a DSLR was sooo much better than anything else....Thanks to my friend's Girlfriend for sneaking it into the show.
I chose the Auto-Takumar 55 1.8 mainly because of it's tiny size....easily concealable in a small purse.
The Focal Length on the cropped sensor was nice...but I really wish I had a zoom lens.
Ingredients:
10 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp fresh rosemary, finely minced [n.b. I used 1 Tbsp dried]
2 ¼ tsp (1 envelope) active dry yeast
½ cup warm water
2 cups all-purpose flour
11 Tbsp sugar
½ tsp salt
3 lbs black seedless grapes, stems removed
2 tsp anise seeds [n.b. I skipped these]
Directions:
In a small saucepan, heat 4 tablespoons of the oil and the rosemary until warm. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
Sprinkle the yeast into the warm water and set it aside until it bubbles, about 2 minutes. Sift the flour onto a work surface or into a large bowl. Make a well in the center and fill with the yeast water, the rosemary oil, 3 Tbsp of the sugar, and the salt. Gradually incorporate the flour into the liquid in the well until a dough forms. Knead the dough until smooth, then set it aside in a lightly oiled bowl until it doubles, about 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with 2 tablespoons of the oil.
Put about half of the grapes into a bowl and, using a large fork or potato masher, gently break the skins. Stir in the remaining grapes whole.
Take slightly more than half of the dough and roll it out to fit the baking pan. Put the dough into the prepared pan and brush with 2 Tbsp of the oil. Top with a little more than half of the crushed and whole grapes. Sprinkle with 4 Tbsp of the sugar and 1 tsp of the anise.
Roll out and stretch the remaining dough to fit the pan. It will be thin. Place the dough over the grape layer. It’s okay if it doesn’t fully cover the bottom layer. Spread with the remaining 2 Tbsp oil, and the remaining grapes, 4 Tbsp sugar, and 1 teaspoon anise. Bake for about 1 hour, until the top is golden brown. Serve at room temperature.

.. to travel, to fall in love, and to be happy. And sweet watermelon.."
You know every rare once in a while, you can actually learn something useful on the internet. It's rare, but it does happen.
I learned yesterday what it means to lower the boom and raise the luffing jib on a boom crane, and why it's important - to a crane operator, that is.. And the people around him while he's operating it.. But for most people, that is knowledge they have no practical use for.
But how to choose a sweet, ripe watermelon.. Now THAT's something we can all sink our teeth into!

Sliced ripe tomato and watermelon radish. Yes, I'm sort of evil for eating off-season tomatoes, but I love tomato.
Onigiri with red sea salt, white sea salt and green onions, and white sea salt and black sesame seed. I was trying out the shaped onigiri molds to see how easy they were to use.
