Playing with IP cameras lately. Dahua is a newer brand to me that seem to be a bit less popular than the Hikvisions.I find that they handle contrast and dynamic range very well. struggle with contrast.
Security camera is the most needed tool for securing the premises. But security alone is not sufficient. The transmission, recorder and a setup to monitor the activities is also needed. All the things come together at one place; control room. The control room is not just any room and it needs careful planning and designing the same. Watch is an action performed in a public space with a security camera (CCTV). It discusses themes of security, privacy, look, fear and otherness. Watch -intervention took place in Berlin, Germany 26.6.2007 in the corner of Wilhelmstrasse and Niederkirchnerstrasse. The security camera of Bundesministerium der Finanzen (Finance Ministry) captured the starers. After the intervention, I have contacted the ministry numerous times by phone and via e-mail in order to get security camera video material to my possession. My rights (Data Protection Directive, 1995) as a citizen of Finland and European Union are not respected. I've been facing a wall of silence.
Bundesministerium der Finanzen, Deltlev-Rohwedder-Haus as it is called, is the only major surviving public building from the Nazi era in the central Berlin. It used to house Reich Air Ministry of Nazis. The building was occupied by the Council of Ministers of the new German Democratic Republic in 1949. As such it was at the centre of the demonstrations during the workers' uprising of 17. June 1953, when hundreds of demonstrators were killed.
Since 1992, the building is called Detlev-Rohwedder-House, after Detlev Karsten Rohwedder, the assassinated head of the Treuhand, which had its headquarters there 1991-95. Treuhand is responsible of selling the state owned property of the DDR.
Close to the building, there used to be the central institutions responsible for the repressive and criminal policies of National Socialism as well as era of DDR. There is no other site where control of people, terror and murder were planned and organised on the same scale.

I'm not Jewish and I'm not a follower of Rebbe Schneerson so if some of this information is incorrect no offense was intended. I did speak briefly with a young man who gave me a small business-sized card urging "us to prepare for the imminent revelation of the Messiah by observing the Seven Noahide Commandments given by G-d through Moses at Mount Sinai." The seven commandments are written on the other side of the card and are basically a condensed version of the ten commandements that most of us are familiar with.
Menachem Mendel Schneerson (1902-1994) known as The Rebbe was a Hasidic rabbi who was the seventh and last leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. His followers believe that the Messiah will return and in preparation we should all observe the Seven Noahide Commandments given to Moses at Mount Sinai.
Chabad Hasidim believe that there is no successor to Schneerson and all the suggested successors declined leadership in the days after his death. Chabad Hasidim believe that he is still their leader, guiding them from beyond the grave through prayer and signs.

What's to watch here, I wonder. There's a taxi line. Maybe they're going to monitor the pedicabs that pull up, and check for licenses. Hmmm ... I suspect that some political appointee wants to be able to watch the surge drills from his comfy office.
Parked in front of the Monument to the People's Heroes, one finds two police buses in a section roped off, with their windows covered. This is most likely operating the security monitoring of Tiananmen Square.
