Your Memory Here: #30

During the early sixties, when I was about 8 years old, I remember sitting high up on my father's shoulders (he was 6'1"). We were participants in one of the largest anti-wae demonstrations in Los Angeles, during the Vietnam war. Weeks before, I can recall stuffing envelopes with my relatives and many other volunteers. Working towards peace in the world was a powerful lesson. FOLD

Your Memory Here: #32

I remember grass, and trees, and sky. I remember looking back as the inferno engulfed my house in a fiery rage. I remember that moment and nothing else.

Your Memory Here: #55

Our first contact was a good natured pre-demo photo I don't know his name. We we're crashing @ the same pad. Our second contact was no meeting either. My unconscious body broke his fall. At a demo turned sour, we became fast friends. A bond forged in a war. Some understand what that is - too many too often. A fight to the death. I never knew him before he was sick. We were comrades. Why did this have to mean making a code to get him to the bathroom if necessary. Perserving against a corrupt system. That's not helping . The day I met him completely changed my life. I am only now coming to grips with this significant thing. We are all too young to be so familiar w/death. Jay we saw each other too little. You fought so valiantly on this plane. Your art communicated so much you were a light in our lives & many here & no other planes watched over you - now you can be our guardian angel. I love you.
