I've never seen such a woolly back on a Red-backed Fairy Wren! Quite appropriate this morning, though. A bit chilly in sunny Brisbane. He almost flew into me, then stopped to present me with about half a dozen opportunities for butt-shots.

Active, chatty and gregarious warblers. They commonly travel in small flocks, working over shrubs for insects, puncturing flowers and fruit.

Always a treat to see Spangled Drongos, with their shimmering, black plumage, red eyes and forked fish-tail.
