Der OLYPMPUS Pearlcorder L400 aus den 1980er Jahren war einer der kleinsten kommerziellen Rekorder auf Magnetbandbasis seiner Zeit (und vielleicht überhaupt). Dank Autorverse konnten auch längere Gespräche ohne Unterbrechung oder Bedienaktion aufgezeichnet werden. Dies prädestinierte ihn in Verbindung mit einer guten Tonqualität zum Einsatz durch private Ermittler – und vielleicht auch weniger private, wenn sie die auf kommerziell erhältliche Ausrüstung zurückgreifen wollten.

The OLYPMPUS Pearlcorder L400 from the 1980s was one of the smallest commercial tape recorders of its time (and maybe ever). Thanks to auto reverse, even longer conversations could be recorded without interruption or operator action. This, combined with good sound quality, predestined it for use by private investigators - and perhaps less private ones, if they preferred to use commercially available equipment.

Das UHER CR 210 stereo ist ein 4-Spur Kassettenrekorder der UHER-Werke München und wurde wohl von 1974-1979 produziert. Mit einem stattlichen Gewicht von 2kg nicht eben in Leichtbauweise hergestellt, war es dank professioneller Ausstattung und Funktionen wie Auto Reverse nicht nur ein Gerät für (gut betuchte) Privatanwender, sondern wurde auch im professionellen Bereich eingesetzt, etwa für Reportagen und Interviews, sowie bei Behörden und Geheimdiensten. Zu den Nutzern gehörte etwa das Ministerium für Staatssicherheit (MfS) – besser bekannt als Staatssicherheitsdienst (Stasi) - der früheren Deutschen Demokratischen Republik (DDR). Zwei Geräte dieses besonderen Vorbesitzers nannte der Sekretär einmal sein Eigen, doch sie waren erheblich modifiziert worden und recht verschlissen. Dieses gebraucht erstandene Exemplar hatte vermutlich eine gänzlich ziviles Vorleben.

The UHER CR 210 stereo is a 4-track cassette recorder of the UHER-Werke Munich and was probably produced from 1974-1979. With a stately weight of 2kg not exactly manufactured in lightweight construction, it was thanks to professional features and functions such as Auto Reverse not only a device for (well-heeled) private users, but was also used in the professional field, such as for reports and interviews, as well as by authorities and intelligence services. The users included, for example, the Ministry for State Security (Ministerium für Staaatssicherheit, MfS) - better known as the State Security Service (Staatssicherheitsdienst, Stasi) - of the former German Democratic Republic (GDR). Secretary once called two devices from this particular pre-owner his own, but they had been significantly modified and were quite worn out. This specimen, purchased second-hand, probably had a wholly civilian past life.

My contribution to the Kingsman collaboration that SaltyBros did for BrickFair LEGO Fan Expo 2022! I had so much fun building this contribution, based on Kingsman: The Golden Circle (the second film in the series). I spent a lot of time trying to get it detailed and textured, and accurate to the actual set's appearance. Check out all the photos!

(SAM= Special Air Mission) flown by the Presidential Airlift Group, assigned to Air Mobility Command's 89th Airlift Wing, Andrews Air Force Base, Md. Both VC-25s were ordered in FY 1986 under the serials 86-8800 and 86-8900, but these numbers were changed to 82-8000 and 92-9000

The US Secret Service arrived in London with President George W. Bush on his farewell tour of the world, or whats left of it. Here they are in Downing Street. The Secret Service are always slick and working hand in hand with British Protection Officers ensured a trouble free visit for the President.
A beautiful young woman goes along the street. A stylish hat protects her eyes from the sun. Her look, her terse smile, her shadowed eyes make a mysterious and enigmatic impression. She evidently is a comrade-in-arms of James Bond and Mata Hari. Judged by her smile she is granddaughter of Mona Lisa. Feel free to say her some kind words in the comment section under the photo. Or award this fair lady with a star. Candid street portrait. The beautiful woman is not a model but an unknown stranger.

Agent Hazel
The code name for gentleman once employed(With trepidation) by what would now be known as British intelligence, MI6, circa the1930’s.
Though his exploits for the service were never made public, the son of a former service director based a tv script on the stories that his elderly grandfather told about the exploits of “Hazel”.
Not allowed to be made in The U.K. The scriot idea was sold to the Americans who developed the tv show from it.
The series was then said to be loosely based on Leslie Charteris’s The Saint character, and titled “To Catch a Thief” This series starred Robert Wagner, portraying cat burglar Alexander Mundy.
According to Wagner's autobiography, Pieces of My Heart (2008) Wagner consulted with Cary Grant, who starred in To Catch a Thief, on how to play Alexander Mundy. Giving some credence to the historical evidence of such a man.
Agent Hazel had to be kept on a short leash by his service handlers , for it was not beneath him to steal the very jewels from his own contacts. (Said leash, by the way, can actually be seen in the organization museums).
For instance:
After meeting a female Russian contact at a formal ball, he suggested to her to join in a dance with him to pass off her information.
She agreed and as the pair danced, relayed the information that she had, which required the British agent to burgle the hotel vault of her boss that evening, in order to steal the sensitive papers from inside a valise. The hotel room was next to hers, and she slipped him her spare key. She then coyly asked him not to wake her when he entered her suite in order to gain access to the adjoining balcony.
The Russian spy remembered how this British Agent had taken the time to admire the emeralds she wore that evening.
Hazel successfully carried out his mission that evening.
Entering the den area of the Russian senior advisor via the outside balcony. But after looting the den’s safe, he snuck into the bed chambre where the diplomat and his wife slept, and cleaned out the chambre’s safe of jewels and other valuables.
He then re-entered his contact’s room to make his escape. Keeping his promise not to awaken her,the scoundrel then lifted her jewels from her bedside vanity.
Claiming in his report it was all necessary to cover his tracks.
Later this Russian female contact had her jewels mysteriously returned, and when asked about it, would only answer with a smug smile.
