A vibrant mural of a puffin in Bretagne, capturing
the region's coastal spirit and artistic flair.....
The Secret Code...guess the hidden code or combination of colors, just a toy of my kid.
Was playing DoF on it...
Hope the colors are just right..

A membership card for a children's fan club celebrating cartoon character Felix the Cat. The card also served as a way to encourage kids to watch the cartoons on Satellite Six, a TV show hosted by Glendora (Glendora Vesta Folsom) on WRGB in Schenectady, New York, in the early 1960s.

The News Chronicle's "I-Spy Tribe", complete with Big Chief I-Spy awards certificates and orders of merit for successfully completed I-Spy books, was a popular past time for many children in post-WW2 years. In many ways it was books such as these that helped foster my childhood inquisitiveness! Although the books and name changed hands on many occassions, including the transfer of the Chronicle to the Daily Mail, the actual premise and books of the title carried on into this century, latterly published by Michelin.
One of the draws was the Secret Code book. The daily newspaper column by 'Big Chief I-Spy' included messages to members in cod that could be deciphered using this 'secret' book!

We've been decorating our bedroom and on removing the old wallpaper found this secret code on the wall beneath the window - or is it just the left over print from some 'long ago' wallpaper?

You all know I will continue to bother everyone with crappy iPhone pictures until I have the camera in my new flat and found a new solution for setting up pictures ;) Good night Misaki is wearing a dress from Doves. She is standing next to my bed at the moment and gives me a heart attack every morning, just because she is so perfectly adorable ;)
I absolutely wanted to try this outfit from Huck on Misaki, just because she is not an obvious choice for this type of fashion. I'd say the experiment worked fine, I really like her in this!
Now, I want a skirt exactly like this in my size... love the look!
The infamous Enigma code took the aliies about three years to crack!
Looking like an odd typewriter, the Enigma allowed the German U boat fleet to attack by surprise. As no one knew where they would be.

I decided to go ahead with my idea to post some pictures of one of my favorite Misakis... Maybe more will follow. She is wearing a Poppy Parker dress... Doesn't this Misaki have one of the cutest faces? Beatiful hair, too, even if you have to be careful to maintain it. And if course her original outfit was a stunner, too.
My father found these among a series of letters from his father to his mother-- some from before they were married some after. His father, my grandpa, was recruited to possibly serve in the Cape Verde Islands with a group that was to become the OSS (predecessor to the CIA). There were reference to him spending a lot of time learning aircraft silhouettes -- and practicing shooting. These two post cards and telegram to my grandmother were all in code. I assume it is a pretty simple code. But we don't know what it says. Both my grandmother and grandfather died around 15 years ago. If anyone can figure out what this means, it'd be deeply appreciated.

Studying traitors of the American Evolution and how messages were sometimes written in code. 5th graders are always trying to be innovative, so some of the boys started writing things in this code to each other. (Not a real sophisticated and complex code mind you.) Harmless things until...one little stinker thought it would be funny to write some "not school appropriate words" in code. That stopped their code writing immediately.
