This is in response to Strawberry Singh's "Then and Now" challenge: strawberrysingh.com/2019/01/06/then-and-now-secondlifecha... And what a difference ten years makes.
Ten years ago, I was barely human, most of the time. I actually had a line on my profile for several years--"If you don't recognize the face beneath the name, it's probably me." Cat, rabbit, equine, mermaid, demon, fawn, Unseelie, zombie, porcelain doll, and the over 500 skins (not exaggerating; at my height I counted 613) that accompanied them, I was anything and everything random whim told me to be.
N ow? I have a daily hair I wear most of the time, green eyes I rarely if EVER take off, I've been in the same 7 Deadly s[K]ins skin (Noellia, from Izara's Advent calendar two years back) for two years. My catgirl skins languish along with the other furs, and I've gotten rid of all the ferals.
I miss those rapid shifts, some days, but most of the time...I'm happy like this. It may not be me-the-mercurial, but it is a face that says "me", to me, and...most of the time, that's enough.

Almost 13 years on SL with a few-year break. Been a bumpy ride at times but I've met some great and real friends along the way, so it was worth it eventually.

I don't have any of my old system clothing saved, but the shape, hair and skin made up my look ten years ago. I miss my old skin because of it's subtle wrinkles and continue to be on the lookout for one that is comparable to use with my Catwa head. I've tried wrinkle appliers and have not been satisfied with the look and/or the (lack of) compatibility with my hairbase. Until then, Shayla will appear to have aged backwards in the last ten years. *shrugs*
