It was a warm, breezy evening when I made my way back into the city of Portofino. The streets seemed to buzz with life, as usual, but it felt different today. Maybe it was because I was heading toward a familiar place, or maybe it was because I was finally going to see Quency after what felt like forever. It was one of those crisp afternoons when the sun hangs low in the sky, painting everything in a soft golden light. I had been walking back home from Natalie’s house taking in the quiet streets of our neighborhood.

As I wandered, my footsteps slowed near a small, tucked-away street I hadn’t noticed before. A sudden sparkle caught my eye. Glancing over, I saw a jewelry store with a window display that seemed to hold treasures from another world.
