The list of Ohio concealed-carry permit holders, once secret, then open to journalists only, is now secret again. Some news outlets (including my former employer, I'm sorry to say) thought the best way to show the sheriffs couldn't be trusted to maintain the integrity of the list was to violate the integrity and publish the names of law-abiding permit holders who assumed they'd have privacy. The backlash turned the list secret again. Meanwhile, the non-law-abiding concealed carriers? There's no list, whaddaya know ...This is why we can't have nice things ...
