I think it's time to get a telescope!!! This is a fellow photographer that I met in Joshua Tree National Park. He, his sister and another photographer and myself hung out here for a couple of hours exchanging tips and friendly conversation.

We were looking for variations on different compositions since nobody there could find a comp with the arch and the MW that looked any good. At this time of year the MW is on the back side of the arch which is somewhat less photogenic than the front side. So I strapped a 50 LED police headlamp on this guys head and handed him my back up headlamp set to red LED mode and ask him to put that on the ground at his feet. After a little fiddling and a few test shots I ended up with this composition. Hope you like it!!! :)

I will be heading back here in June when the MW is in a much better position. :)

This was shot at the White Tank Campground on the Arch rock loop.

Please leave a comment if you like this photo and thank you for taking the time to take a look at my photos and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great day everyone :)

The Daffodils on my front porch are searching for sun in this late spring, just like me.

I got up on Tuesday and the sun was shinning so I thought why not go to the BWC I was lucky as it stayed nice. It was the calm before the storm as the weather has been wild ever since.

I feel a bit out of practice with the camera and missed some really nice shots so I need to start practicing.

It was fantastic to see all the animals after so long and these little Red Squirrels are always great just look at those wonderful ears.

Another long exposure taken while hoping for polar lights.

This will be my last Finland photo. Tomorrow, it'll be back to Frankfurt.

Thank you my friends for your support here on Flickr. I have realised that I need to try to find new ways and approaches to my photographic work. Currently I don't think I will stop posting images here, but I think I will slow down the pace. Maybe there will only be one, two or three pictures a week, maybe pictures on completely new themes. Probably the Flickr algorithm won't particularly endorse that, but I won't take that into consideration, it's only about my creativity. I am grateful for comments and your future support.

This bolt seemed to be searching for something before it hit. Taken at Panama City Beach, FL. Nature reminds me of Gods peace that transcends understanding, How something destructive can also be so beautiful. Thanks for looking and may God Bless you/!

This Male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker just couldn't find the right tree to get it's sap. It kept going from tree to tree and never sat still to check out the tree for sap. Bucks County PA.

... for some good news.

Plucked from my archives, Short- eared Owl I know there's a few about around me but I can't get out at the moment hopefully they'll hang about for a while and I'll get a look at one.

This juvenile Snowy Plover is studying a bush for little green caterpillars to eat. I assumed that Plovers were like other shorebirds eating marine life. When I saw them feeding on insects it made sense since they are in the same family as Killdeers. Things aren’t always as we assume.

Bonelli's Eagle - Jayamangali black buck sanctuary

Looking at this photo you would say that there are here at least two different kinds of rock, right? Well, …, wrong! All of it is granite, whose natural colour is the dark grey of the ones on the right.

What makes them look completely different is the sunrise light! On the left the rocks are receiving the early morning’s light, with oblique sunrays warming the scene, whereas the ones on the left are still in the shadow.

Interestingly, due to the high altitude, two cloud layers are present here. One below the POV and the other well above, creating in the middle a “window” of blue sky.

Serra da Estrela (Star Mountain) is Portugal’s mainland highest mountain. At 1,993 metres at its highest point in Torre, Serra da Estrela is an area of rare landscape beauty. You can take advantage of the moments of communion with nature to discover the diversity of plants and birds and the flocks of sheep herded by Estrela dogs from the breed named after the mountain.

In cold weather, Serra da Estrela is the only place in Portugal where you can try ski, or go sledging, snowboarding or ride a snowmobile. Albeit small, there are several runs with support infrastructure, as well as artificial snow runs for skiing at any time of the year.

This natural park is excellent for trekking, horse-riding or mountain biking. It boasts some 375km of marked trails of varying degrees of difficulty.
