Love the sunbeams.

We went quite far into the swamps in search of a sunrise shooting location. It was our mistake, along the way we missed a couple of pretty good ones in search of the best one. Therefore, we met the dawn at a rather boring location

For the new Mocro Monday theme I searched for beetles and bugs in the garden but couldn't find some. I think It's to cold or maybe I searched at the wrong place. Because I didn't find any bug in the garden I decided to search for a beetle made of sheetmetal ;-) I found three different ones.

Went to a local country park today in search of Bluebells and found these instead...I don't know what was going on but these strings were strung up amoungst the trees also if you looked up above dotted around the walks there were chairs in the trees...these strings though amoungst the trees did look beautiful....and as for the Bluebells I don't know where they are, in the tea room there are photographs on the walls of the park with pathways through the trees and carpets of bluebells everywhere it's why we ended up here today I thought I'd get some good shots of them....oh well, we had a wonderful day anyway.

For those who are not aware of the sheer delights in visiting and photographing the Assynt region of the west cost of Scotland, you really do not know what you're missing.

This part of Scotland flies under the radar when compared to Glencoe, Skye and Harris and Lewis but it is no less magical and in the right light, is absolutely stunning. Here is an image I shot back in October during my workshop of the lovely little abandoned bothy in Elphin.

On this particular day the storm clouds and threatening sky mixed in with some fantastic heavy showers offered up a double rainbow right over the bothy. I am known as the 'Bow Whisperer' for my natural luck in photographing a whole range of rainbows in some amazing locations and on this occasion, I am so pleased to have lived up to my nickname, lol.

In search of ... dinner, of course! While I do love raptors, my favorite has always been the northern harrier. To me, they combine beauty and grace ... and it doesn't hurt that they have that "owl-vibe", since they possess the facial disk which resembles an owl. Flying relatively low above the landscape, they listen and observe for movement of prey. They are quick and agile too. So entertaining, and challenging, for me. Happy Tuesday!

A chunky, large-headed bird of open areas, usually found perched on wires or flying around in search of insects. Soft gunmetal gray with white underparts. Often found pressed together in pairs or tight groups when at rest. Sometimes flies in the same areas as swallows and swifts, but has a much thicker build, with triangular, somewhat starling-like wings. The only woodswallow throughout most of its range. Song is a somewhat myna-like series of sweet warbling and harsh chattering. Also gives nasal scolding “nyeh”, comparable to a jay or treepie. (eBird)

Frequently seen but not photographed. I finally found a pair on the power lines, then this one came a little closer and I could get a better look. The only angle I had was into the sun so he was pretty shadowed in the final image. A little editing brought out his subtle colours.

Despite the name and appearance, this bird is not a swallow. It is actually in the same family as the Australian Magpie!

Obviously not for the first time, this squirrel visited our terrace, climbing from one plant pot to the other. It inspected intensely every pot and flower soil, digging and searching for treasures - walnut treasures - probably hidden before to survive these unpleasent times. Hopefully, the search was successful.
