Wikipedia (about some of the most famous Swedish-Finnish history):
Suomenlinna (Finnish) or Sveaborg (Swedish), until 1918 Viapori (Finnish), is an inhabited sea fortress built on six islands (Kustaanmiekka, Susisaari, Iso-Mustasaari, Pikku-Mustasaari, Länsi-Mustasaari and Långören) and which now forms part of the city of Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage site and popular with tourists and locals, who enjoy it as a picturesque picnic site. Originally named Sveaborg (Fortress of Svea), or Viapori as called by Finnish-speaking Finns, it was renamed in Finnish to Suomenlinna (Castle of Finland) in 1918 for patriotic and nationalistic reasons, though it is still known by its original name in Sweden and by Swedish-speaking Finns.
The Swedish crown commenced the construction of the fortress in 1748 as protection against Russian expansionism. The general responsibility for the fortification work was given to Augustin Ehrensvärd. The original plan of the bastion fortress was strongly influenced by the ideas of Vauban, the foremost military engineer of the time, and the principles of star fort style of fortification, albeit adapted to a group of rocky islands.
In addition to the island fortress itself, seafacing fortifications on the mainland would ensure that an enemy would not acquire a beach-head from which to stage attacks. The plan was also to stock munitions for the whole Finnish contingent of the Swedish Army and Royal Swedish Navy there. In the Finnish War the fortress surrendered to Russia on May 3, 1808, paving the way for the occupation of Finland by Russian forces in 1809.
Part of the series of capturing Mumbai in the evening. We had gone to Worli Sea face and one of the rare days with no clouds on the sea over Mumbai which I have seen . The Sun is almost setting.
I shot this at Worli sea face where I saw 3 cute puppies playing on the shores . There is some noise due to the usage of Digital Zoom
We wanted to reach before the Sunset but alas we were late the sun was hidden rising someplace else on the earth .
After the devastation caused by Tsunami in December 2004, the calm Arabian Sea in Mumbai in February 05 also created some uneasiness

As far as the clichés in photography go, this is certainly not a new one. Many have already captured Marine Drive in a panorama, but that obviously does not stop one to try it again!
It took eleven separate photographs and almost 45 minutes on Photoshop to stitch them into how it looks like now.
Promenade du Soleil is a picturesque 2 km seafront promenade in Menton, France, extending from Quartier de la Madone to the Old Town. Lined with historic palaces, lush gardens, and a variety of restaurants, it offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps.

Baz Luhrman says this about friends .. .
"Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography in lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young."
I believe this to be absolutely true , but i was wondering why it is so?
I think it is because as we get older more and more of our friendships are made for the sake of convenience. There is always a purpose to such friendships even before they were made ..
very rarely do we find a friend who is one simply for the sake of being a friend . .
But most of our friendships forged when we were young were not like this, there weren't any strings attached to those friendships . . and that is why when we grow up, we need somebody who was friends with us when we were not managers, engineers and businessmen.
when we were simply us . . .

The "French Promenade" in Nice is actually the Promenade des Anglais, a famous avenue along the Mediterranean Sea, named after the English aristocrats who financed its construction in the 19th century This 7km promenade is an iconic spot for walking, cycling, or rollerblading, offering views of the Baie des Anges, cafes, and places like the Hôtel Negresco
The evening is so beautiful at Worli Sea face. Clouds and sunsets are my favorite, they are so different every time you look at them. They bring a different perspective all the time
The Hanging Gardens, in Mumbai, also known as Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens, are terraced gardens perched at the top of Malabar Hill, on its western side, just opposite the Kamala Nehru Park. They provide sunset views over the Arabian Sea and feature numerous hedges carved into the shapes of animals. The park was laid out in 1881 by Ulhas Ghapokar over Bombay's main reservoir, some say to cover the water from the potentially contaminating activity of the nearby Towers of Silence. When seen from the air, the walkway inside the park (Hanging Gardens Path), spell out the letters PMG (Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens) in cursive.

The Bandra–Worli Sea Link (BWSL), officially called Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link, is a cable-stayed bridge with pre-stressed concrete-steel viaducts on either side that links Bandra in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai with Worli in South Mumbai. The bridge is a part of the proposed Western Freeway that will link the Western Suburbs to Nariman Point in Mumbai's main business district.
