got these wonderful fresh sea breams last night and prepared them in a very mediterranean fashion with lots of garlic, cherry tomatoes, capers and parsley .... YUMM :)

Back from Turkey, my first upload is this sunset shot from Didyama bay. I think the anglers aimed for seabream, the most popular fish in this area.

Procida is the smallest island of the Gulf of Naples; it is rich in attractions and archaeology. From the ground floor of Napoli Centro train station, you can take the metro to station Pozzuoli then get off and take the ferry at the port of Pozzuoli. The architecture of Procida has a Greek origin. In fact, the history of Procida is concentrated first of all on the medieval village “Terra Murata” and on “Corricella”, the fishing settlement. The island has served as the set for numerous films, such as The “Postman”, and some scenes in “The Talented Mr. Ripley” were shot on Corricella. The landmarks of Procida reflect typical Mediterranean pastel colours. Procida offers simply cooking and at least 10 excellent restaurants with plain cooking based on fresh fish. This simple style never fails, thanks to the 20 local fishing boats. The specialties of the cooking are: stewed rabbit (which goes back to the Borbonen who came on Procida to hunt the wild rabbit) and spaghetti with sea-urchin. Procida has 6 beaches with crystal-clear waters. Spent some relaxing days on this wonderful island. Experience the real Italy, lovely people, great views, great sand and great food.

No vehicles are allowed in this area, which has gardens filled with lemon trees. The various pastel houses have arches unique to the island’s architecture. A fish monger holds up a fresh sea bream at the Sunda Kelapa Pasar Ikah (outdoor fish market), Jakarta, Indonesia. The fish market is very colourful, if you can stand the smell, and contains a large variety of crustaceans and fish. The bright light and deep shadows can be difficult to work with during the day, but I was pleased with the effect I achieved photographing this man with his head partially lit up with some light reflected from a red umbrella.

Pozzuoli is originally a Greek city on the Bay of Naples. Thanks to its sheltered location and pleasant climate, the city grew into a port of interest in Greek times, and Pozzuoli has retained this role over the centuries. Rione Terra is the first city of Pozzuoli dating back to the 2nd century BC. The Rione Terra is located on a hill to better control arrivals from the sea. Pozzuoli was considered the port of Rome. Puteoli, as the city was called in Roman times, was where Roman soldiers were established here in the time of Nero. The amphitheater in Puzzuoli is smaller than the Colosseum, but it is well preserved. Furthermore, a part of a Roman street, which has been preserved in its undamaged condition, includes the facades of adjacent buildings, and other remnants of classic Puteoli can be found here and there in the city. You must see the cathedral: it is built on the remains of the temple of Augustus and it reopened to the public in recent years. The harbor of Pozzuoli reflect typical Mediterranean pastel colours. Ferries from Pozzuoli to Ischia make a stopover in Procida. There are both fast and slow services.

🇬🇧 The Donator, or Prosper Schiaffino, is a freighter sunk by a mine in 1945 and located between the islands of Port-Cros and Porquerolles. It is one of the most beautiful wrecks in the Mediterranean.
Donator was built in 1931 in Norway. It measured 78 m of length for 12 m of wide, for a speed de14 in 15 knots for a power of 1800 cv. Its resold in 1933 to the General Maritime Company of Armaments which renames it Small Earth and allocates it to the transport of bananas between the Metropolis and the Antilles. In 1939 it becomes the property of an Algerian Company of Navigation, the Company Schiaffino. This one was in the habit of baptizing the ships with the first names of members of the family, and Donator becomes then the Prosper Schiaffino. This company, which had twenty buildings in 1939, lost 19 during the Second World War: 13 by torpedoes, mines, and 6 by bombing while they were at anchor.
He was converted into a pinardier. Used for the transport of troops and equipment during the war, it found the transport of wine at the liberation. On November 10, 1945, the Prosper Schiaffino sailed for Spain with 29 sailors on board, to protect itself from the mistral, it skirted the coast. In sight of Porquerolles, it passes to the south of the island, too close, and encounters a field of residual mines. An explosion occurs forward at 1:15 p.m. The bow almost detaches from the ship. In 4 minutes, it sinks from the front, the rear almost vertically. Two victims will be counted. He rests on a sandy bottom at 48 meters, the bridge goes up to 44 meters.

Celle-ci avait coutume de baptiser ses navires avec les prénoms des membres de la famille, et le Donator devient alors le Prosper Schiaffino.
Cette compagnie qui possédait vingt bâtiments en 1939 en perdit 19 pendant la seconde guerre mondiale : 13 par torpillages, mines, et 6 par bombardements alors qu’ils étaient au mouillage.
Il fut reconverti en pinardier. Utilisé pour le transport de troupes et de matériel durant la guerre, il retrouva le transport de vin à la libération. Le 10 novembre 1945, le Prosper Schiaffino fait route sur l’Espagne avec 29 matelots à son bord, pour se protéger du mistral, il longe les côtes. En vue de Porquerolles, il passe au sud de l’île, trop près, et rencontre un champ de mines résiduelles. Une explosion se produit à l’avant à 13 heures 15. La proue se détache presque du navire. En 4 minutes, il sombre par l’avant, l’arrière presque à la verticale. Deux victimes seront dénombrées. Il repose sur un fond de sable à 48 mètres, le pont remonte jusqu’à 44 mètres.

De vis wordt gratis schoongemaakt maar er is wel een fooien pot. Napels heeft een rijke visserijgeschiedenis en een ongelooflijke relatie met de zee. Foto van zeeduivel of zeeduivel "één van de lelijkste vissen in de zee" vanwege het aangeboren uiterlijk van de vis, deze visboer toont een zeeduivel voor zijn kraam en verkoopt alleen de staartuiteinden, waar het eetbare vlees is.

Procida is the smallest island of the Gulf of Naples; it is rich in attractions and archaeology. From the ground floor of Napoli Centro train station, you can take the metro to station Pozzuoli then get off and take the ferry at the port of Pozzuoli. The architecture of Procida has a Greek origin. In fact, the history of Procida is concentrated first of all on the medieval village “Terra Murata” and on “Corricella”, the fishing settlement. The island has served as the set for numerous films, such as The “Postman”, and some scenes in “The Talented Mr. Ripley” were shot on Corricella. The landmarks of Procida reflect typical Mediterranean pastel colours. Procida offers simply cooking and at least 10 excellent restaurants with plain cooking based on fresh fish. This simple style never fails, thanks to the 20 local fishing boats. The specialties of the cooking are: stewed rabbit (which goes back to the Borbonen who came on Procida to hunt the wild rabbit) and spaghetti with sea-urchin. Procida has 6 beaches with crystal-clear waters. Spent some relaxing days on this wonderful island. Experience the real Italy, lovely people, great views, great sand and great food.
Procida is an island of sailors and fishermen, Procida simplicity is well summed up by the combination of it's excellent fish, outstanding lemons and pleasant white wine. A working fishing village Corricella with a restaurant dock area. One gorgeous port that looks like time has stood still which only adds to it's charm. Traditional fisherman working hard for little money. In the morning they leave with their private little fishing boats. Each fishermen knows how to throw the giacchio, a special and traditional fishing net. Waiting for fish. At the end of the fishing day they bring the fish home. Procida is het kleinste eiland van de Golf van Napels; het is rijk aan attracties en archeologie. Vanaf de begane grond van treinstation Napoli Centro kunt u de metro naar station Pozzuoli nemen, uitstappen en de veerboot nemen in de haven van Pozzuoli. De architectuur van Procida heeft een Griekse oorsprong. In feite is de geschiedenis van Procida allereerst geconcentreerd op het middeleeuwse dorp "Terra Murata" en op "Corricella", de vissersnederzetting. De lokale vissers op het eiland kennen alle kneepjes van het vak en hebben door de jaren heen geleerd hoe ze deze vaardigheid moeten gebruiken.

These fish are deep-water fish despite their looks, are molto delicious. They're easy to prepare (no scales!) and loved by kids, simply dredged in flour, fried, and served drizzled with lemon juice..

The saddled seabream, also called the saddle bream or oblade, is a common Mediterranean fish of the family Sparidae. It has a fuse-shaped silver body, with a black spot near the tail. It is monotypic in the genus Oblada. The maximum length recorded for this species is 34 centimetres. The lenght of this one was approximately 12 - 15 cm.
