Such scenes are emblematic of Montana.

The burning of a beeswax candle often develops into an interesting sculpture. I love the colour of this wax it has a warmth about it.

My walk on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire 28-12-2016 went from Kidderminster to Wolverley and it meant i had completed the the bottom half of my quest to walk and photograph the canal.Along the way i saw this sculpture on the oppersite bank ,i would think it was an old or storm damaged tree that needed taking down but someone had taken the time not to just hack it down but make a very nice feature of it ......nice one .......now to walk to top half of the canal

the ego has landed

The Sculpture Gallery is one of the few buildings that remain standing from the Trentham estate. The main hall was demolished in 1912-3. The developer of Trentham Gardens, St Modwen Properties, has plans to rebuild the Hall as a hotel and conference centre, but the economic recession has put the project on hold.

This monolithic sculpture aims to highlight the prejudice indigenous peoples face through the theft of their land and devestation of sacred sites, and the disregard for indigenous land rights.

Made of industrial scrap, from the agricultural, automotive and oil industries, the sculpture features parts from a petrol tanker, plus pieces from a 1957 Bentley car and a Q4 military truck.

It is presented as a living sculpture, filled with plants.

"Fat Ladies", Skulpturen des chinesischen Künstlers Xu Hongfei auf dem Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, September 2015

part of a project exploring breaking wave forms as ephemeral sculpture, Sydney coast, 2014. Canon 5D.

This is a photo stack of 20 images to create this much depth in a macro photo. Each shot with a slightly different focus point. The camera is locked down and then it is slid forward by tiny, controlled movements of macro focus slider. The copper wire sculpture is all of about 2 inches tall. The flower in the background is only about 3 to 4 inches away from the wire structure with is sitting in a bucket of water to help finish the scene.

Its hard to set this all up and everything is very small movements and if you accidentally kick a tripod leg of a light stand, everything gets changed in a big way. It can be very frustrating to work like this, but this is the result when it all comes together.

Shot using a Tokina AT-X 90mm f2.5 Macro lens and a 25mm Canon FD extension tube.

Namibia? no.... would you believe Gran Canaria.

Taken whilst enjoying some winter sun in November, this is early morning side lighting around 8.30am. One of a group of images photographed with a new Mk3 Sigma 17-70mm lens. Pleased with the definition it has resolved. Been off Flickr for a while, hope you like the new stuff.
