Overall eight young people on Include Youth’s Give and Take Scheme were involved in the design, build, scriptwriting, sound and lighting, recording of voiceovers and puppeteer workshops over a three month period. On Tuesday March 11, Chantelle, Stephen and Amy on behalf of the young people involved performed their 30 minute puppet show to a group of Primary 4 pupils from St Mary’s Primary School.
The show, which tells the story of a bully, was based on some experiences of young people involved with the Give and Take Scheme, who felt it important to also explore what might be going on for a bully to make them act out in such a negative way.

She thought about how she didn't have enough money to bury herself.
She'd be a burden if she died, so she bought a ten-thousand-dollar life-insurance policy. Then felt it wasn't enough and left instructions for cremation or cardboard box.
She battled cigarettes, negotiating her next smoke, and taking a shower, washing her hair again, rinsing traces of a bad habit into the sewage. She took five showers a day sometimes.
She worried about finding a job, even though she'd once had the perfect job with the perfect salary. But nothing was different.
She focused on her pain, both physical and emotional until she couldn’t move. She was certain she was being forced into a square peg of conforming to something.
Her library contained everything and nothing. She read about Bryon, literary agents, screenplays, Disraeli's letters, plot ideas, English Lords, scriptwriting, Indian wars, antiques and Tutankhamun.
Her father was an asshole, and it was a weird thing to suddenly realize.
The months kept flying by and then it was Mr. Jones’ funeral.

An intensive four-day training session for 17 Somali female journalists ended this week, with the participants receiving intensive instruction in writing for broadcast media. Organized by Somali Women Journalists (SWJ), with UNSOM’s support, the session covered topics such as scriptwriting, interview skills, use of social media, ethical journalism and treatment of news sources.
“We want this training to lead girls into a positive direction. We expect them to move away from the traditional reporting style and adopt modern TV and radio reporting methods,” said the SWJ’s Chairperson, Farhia Mohamed Kheyre, at the opening of the training.
The participants were drawn from the city of Mogadishu, and the Hirshabelle and South West State.
