In the early 1970s Chapleau collaborated with André Gladu on a comic strip that reflect the scriptwriter's interest in Quebec culture. Gladu, who also graduated from the École des beaux-Arts de Montréal with a diploma in graphic art, has since made some forty documentary films on the people of Quebec and other North American francophones.
