Am filling in my calendar with some stuff from March, because of the cool new pool 2007 Day-by-day - which started just a few days ago and has not yet caught up with the present: currently in the beginning of March. One pic per day only, first come first served. I'll probably not post these; just inspired to revisit my archives.

I doodle when I'm bored. My Math notebook is nice to doodle at and sometimes, I don't really realize that I used almost half of the notebook until now. Hahaha, I kinda had the urge to clean my stuff already. =))

I listened to some slow jazz and just reacted by scribbling on a page. Later, I painted over it in Photoshop.

Kai Guava Plantation in Kiluea, Kawaii, Hawaii, USA =)

Rows of guava trees. You gotta get their Guava Jelly and Sorbet... and heck, try a bunch of their juices, it's so good! They provide guavas for Ocean Spray, but OS waters it down. Get it pure from the store, it's fantastic.

When I was a small child, I was sure someone had been through the bush scribbling on tree trunks!

From Wikipedia: "Scribbly gum (Eucalyptus haemastoma) is an Australian eucalypt that is named after the 'scribbles' on its bark. These zigzag tracks are tunnels made by the larvae of the Scribbly Gum Moth (Ogmograptis scribula) and follow the insect's life cycle. Eggs are laid between layers of old and new bark. The larvae burrow into the new bark and, as the old bark falls away, the trails are revealed. The diameters of the tunnels increase as the larvae grow, and the ends of the tracks are where the larvae stopped to pupate."

SCRIBBLY GUMS

Pure essence of the bush is distilled into the drawing. I want these vessels to bring the wild tang of the eucalyptus forest to the civilised ritual of drinking tea, to capture first the smoky rays of sun touching the tops of the eucalyptus, the cool damp smell of the dew and the "wheeeeeeee- CRACK" of the whip bird's call.

A yunomi is simply defined as a ceramic drinking vessel with a turned foot that is taller than it is wide. They are used in Japan for everyday drinking and are often sold in pairs. The pairs are not identical but complimentary with decoration and shape differing slightly, the larger cup being the "husband" and the smaller the "wife"."
