i handpainted the inner colors because i am anal retentive. we practiced screenprinting the colors but there were times when we were waaaay off.
One of my son's Art Center classmates designed and printed this doll. I sewed her up. I added a bow to try and cheer her up! Didn't seem to work.

three color printing on a 1-color screen press is pretty much a huge pain in the ass.

14x18 screenprint on paper (dimensions include matted area). Steel Dragon is a limited edition of 56 screenprints, each of them unique. Starting off as a detailed pen-and-ink drawing of PDX's Steel Bridge, I created four screens with different elements of the image. using a combination of rough techniques and refined techniques I was able to capture many different qualities and moods with each print. some are in bright, vibrant colors, while others are more subdued.

Monoprint screenprint produced by painting with silk paint directly onto screen and then disolving and printing pigment onto heavy weight paper (roughly 10 inches by 14 inches) with wallpaper paste.
Just experimenting. In places where ink was heavy, there are white patches as it actually blocked the screen.
