This was a simple two-color screenprint that I did for Diverseworks’ 2007 Luck of the Draw charity art auction.
Lee from Opus Underground comissioned me to design 4 limited edition screen prints, and here they are.
This is where the whole CMYK / Gang thing came from, as I wanted the 4 to tie in together, so i thought of using CMYK as the print colours but then also inventing this gang CALLED the CMYK you see!
Anyways, I love tiling patterns and love how simple yet rad they look, so I wanted to do the same for this, creating an almost 'Gucci' like pattern but having the symbol something a bit more sinister - hence the knuckle duster!
Ideally these would look best when they're all hung next to each other, so they're quite subtle from a distance.
Anyways, thanks for looking, I hope you like!
Screenprint based on the vintage cans that were outside my office for a while. The beer names and taglines are made up and the type is hand drawn - no fonts. This is the second in a six pack series. Three color with silver ink. 4.25 x 6.25.

Screenprint done for a recent exhibition of myself and 7 other illustrators

There's a clear reflective gloss terrarium over the whole print that gets a little lost in the scan.
I think that 8 hours per day in front of the computer + 14 hours of screenprint work per week are going to kill me.
My back hurts a lot. awww
A reworking of the previous sold out Octophant.
These things have a tendency to sell fast, so if you want one get one because I don't expect to be printing this design again.

Lord, is it dull around here or what? Welcome to Minnesota in February. It should be getting a little busier in the next few weeks -- I promise. For today, though, you get to look at some of my decor. This is a screenprinted poster from the Raconteurs show a few years ago that Aesthetic Apparatus designed. I *love* this design team. If you have never poked around their site, you should. And if you live in Minneapolis, get on over to their headquarters on Saturday. They are having a scratch'n'dent sale and posters are going to be starting at FIVE BUCKS. You can't beat that with a stick.PS: That Raconteurs show kicked ass. It's in my top 10 of all time. Maybe even top 5.
I'm working in new screenprints, this is a serie of 15.
It's my first screenprint in 2 years and I'm pretty proud that how it turned out.
I love to work in the screenprint studio.
Did my first ever bit of screenprinting a couple of weeks ago. Long overdue and a whole lot of fun!
There's a tiny Tumblr post showing some of the process steps here:
Also a small number of the prints still available over on Etsy. (now shipping internationally) etsy.me/1AX0ybn
