Joy of Canadian prairie drivers! Luckily for me, I was seated inside the car and watching the procedure this morning.

In addition to parades the Oxen have competed in Oxen pulls and have won many awards. They also have been used to show the younger generation how fields were plowed. As you saw in the larger cart, that said Santo Antao, Joseph Texiera in the parade, it was taken in the parade by Carlos Sousa. (another Sao Jorge immigrate) You saw the men struggle putting it into the trailer, in additon to the weight of the cart, it also carried various plows and tools used to mintain the fields.
When Joseph Texeira asked the men to attend the event in Lovelock they all were excited and proud to go and share part of their heritage.

This picture was taken outside Zengo Restaurant in Denver. The restaurant itself has a cool, retro vibe. This was the street scene which captured my attention and later my imagination as I created a mosaic composition.
Serpent Tongue Scraper
This piece is a refernce to how all humans lie. It is a play on the old concept of how if your mother caught you swearing of lying she would threated to wash your mouth out with soap. This piece is to clean the lies out of you.
When you insert this into your mouth, it makes it look like you have the tongue of a snake, the lier in the bible. You can also use the forked end to pick between your teeth.
