Scout liked my new glasses so much, he decided to try them himself.

The Bonfire Yell is one of the highlights of the annual Scouting Camporee. The boy scouts and girl scouts of SFAMSC show off their talents in dance, acting, and singing as they perform their cheers and yells exulting the values of scouting and challenging the other patrols to do better with friendly jabs that help spark healthy competition. To give their very best performance, each patrol dedicate many days to choreograph and practice their yells. This activity helps develop important life skills such as cooperation, teamwork, creativity, and the strength of character to be able to perform publicly. Audiences are usually surprised so see once timid and shy students shine and give it their all in the Bonfire Yell.

Shown: David Palmer, Peter Frazer (who went onto Wellington), Peter and Hann Estin*, Michael Walden and Charles Roberts.

* Hans H Estin became a Boston financier and was chairman of Boston University’s board of trustees in the 1970's. He died of cancer in May 2012. He was also vice chairman emeritus at North American Management, the investment firm in Boston where he had worked since 1974.

Born in Prague, Hans Howard Estin was a boy when his family fled Czechoslovakia in 1938. His family lived in London when Hans and Peter were educated at Wellesley, then Montreal, and eventually settled north of Boston, in Manchester-by-the-Sea. His father launched an investment business.

Mr. Estin graduated from Tabor Academy in Marion. In 1949, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard, where he was captain of the lacrosse team and was a member of the varsity soccer and ski teams.

He joined the Air Force after college and was a pilot during the Korean War, according to his family, before returning to Boston to join his father’s business.

Mr. Estin’s passion for skiing led him and his brother, Peter, to help turn Sugarbush ski resort in Warren, Vt., into a favorite destination for the affluent in the 1960s. He was one of the founders of Ski Club 10 at the base of the mountain, where the likes of fashion designer Oleg Cassini partied, and Sugarbush’s nickname “Mascara Mountain’’ was born.

Mr. Estin’s brother, Peter, who was director of the ski school, died in 1962 at 35 of ski-related injuries. Mr. Estin supported Peter’s family afterward.

Mr. Estin became chairman of BU’s board of trustees in 1969 and was head of the 21-member search committee that tapped Silber for the presidency.

In 1970, Mr. Estin was named honorary consul for Belgium in Boston.

During his career, Mr. Estin served on the boards of Harbor National Bank, the Putnam Group of mutual funds, Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Co., and the Boston Company.

He also was a trustee of the New England Aquarium and at Tabor Academy, a member of the Massachusetts General Hospital Corporation, a corporation member of the Schepens Eye Research Institute, and a member of the Harvard Committee on University Resources and the Board of Overseers of the Boys and Girls Club of Boston.

Thanks to Skip D. Frogman for this swell Biker Scout, he is all I ever dreamed he would be, and much much more!

I now have modern interpretations of all the Trooper types seen in the Original Trilogy - Huzzah!

First dolly time since getting back from my holiday. :3

It's amazing how much I missed them!

I tried to flatten Scout's wig a little so that it would cover her ears... Didn't really work. :/

So currently she's sitting next to me in a dressing gown and wooly hat, waiting for her hair to dry properly, haha. (Probably pics of that later. :P)
