James Ralph Reeds (1903–1976) was a prominent civic leader in Scottville, Michigan who served as the Postmaster and was heavily involved in organizing local Boy Scouts of America (BSA) activities.

The Scout Circus: A "Scout Circus" was a massive, arena-style public demonstration common in the mid-20th century. Local scout troops performed synchronized gymnastics, pioneering (building structures with ropes and logs), and outdoor survival skills to raise funds and showcase scouting to the public.
District Chairman: Reeds served as a district chairman for the local BSA council, overseeing scouting programs across his designated geographic district in Western Michigan. He frequently chaired and coordinated major regional events, including local scout circuses and campaigns.
Legacy: Because of his lifelong contribution to public service and community recreation, the main entrance road into Scottville's Riverside Park was named J. Ralph Reeds Drive in his honor.
