Here's what the observing rig looks like from the observer's point of view. The camera is on a ball socket so I tweak it to get it aligned with the spotting scope.

The eye shield is a snug fit around the eyepiece, so it can be rotated to a convenient orientation.

The forests extend almost as far as the eye can see.

Olympus digital camera

I use a simplified version in the scope ring, but made a detailed one just for "show-off". Oh yea, it isn't an actual screw, I just extruded/chamfered around 15 connected lines (you know the trick with edges?), so it's parallel, it isn't a spiral.
