The Aston Martin V8 was hanbuilt by Aston Martin from 1969-89, emerging through several generations.
Powered by a V8 engine designed by Tadek Marek, the V8 made its debut in 1969 in the DBS V8 which evolved from the DBS six cylinder model.
The DBS name was dropped in April 1972, the flagship car becoming known simply as the V8, Aston Martin V8 cars, produced from 1972 through July 1973, used a similar engine to the DBS V8, albeit with Bosch fuel injection rather than the earlier carburetors.
The Series III was introduced in 1973, with the engine switching back to normally aspirated form, and the use of Weber carburettors, ostensibly to help the car pass new stricter emissions standards in California. these cars are distinguished by a taller hood scoop to accommodate four twin-choke (two-barrel) Weber carbs. The car produced 310 hp (231 kW; 314 PS) and could reach 60 mph in 6.1 seconds with automatic transmission and 5.7 seconds with manual. ese cars are distinguished by a taller hood scoop to accommodate four twin-choke (two-barrel) Weber carbs. In this photo I have already scooped up the salmon off the plank, and Leslie Anne has taken the fish inside. Now it is time for me to scoop up the asparagus and shrimp. To reduce charring, I picked up the cedar plank and set it on a rack prior to taking it inside and throwing it in the sink under running water. Leslie Anne usually gets a month or month and a half worth of uses for each cedar plank before they burn up too much.
I've had the multicolor broomstick skirt for over 25 years; in fact, it was the first of many. I got the burgundy top last year and wear it with a number of skirts, long and short.

Day 8 Kim Klassen Beyond Layers Class.....Vintage Happiness!
Old wooden bowl, filled with apples, hickory nuts and dried cranberries is an accent piece on one of my deep window wells in my old house. Morning sunshine sneaking in through the covered porch and leaking in through the gauze curtain panel was the only light needed. A bit of texture (kk Organic) and Vintage gradient mapping at 62% for a mellowed old fashioned look. Happiness! i conquered my homework assignment and i like it!!
For a little extra happiness, the two different size wooden scoops were carved for me by my dad, who was a carpenter and woodworker for 45 years before retiring at age 65.. He no longer does that, but he just turned 90 this past year and deserves a rest! ;) He has also made me a beautiful wooden table and a replica of my vintage farmhouse that is about 3 feet long, as a doll house to decorate for myself and my grandbeans to play with! I love things that are handmade with love!! More happiness!

This place was an abandoned blast furnace that had a full barrier and walkway around it and was a tourist attraction showing concerts and had events up to a certain time of day.
It also had powerful coloured lights all over it to show off the structure and its internals but on the day we arrived it was closed until lunchtime so we decided to visit early after finding a way in at the rear of the premises.. We accessed the attraction but only so far as some of the levels were very rusty. Martin stayed outside and photographed the perimeter and unfortunately fell and broke his camera.

A banana pie that I made for the new years eve party!
I invented the recipe based on a traditional Brazilian dessert called Cartola. It is very simple:
Fresh bananas + Pillsbury Pie Crust + Brown sugar + butter + Madera wine + cinnamon + a pinch of salt!
Perfect warm with a scoop of premium vanilla ice cream.
Enoy!

PERSONAL FUN FACT: Wowza! This doll is such a dramatic beauty! Each time I look at her, she always manages to take my breath away. You can imagine my delight when I found her at the local flea market in June of 2020. It was a very slow, muggy Sunday. Colleen and I were almost done walking through the entire flea market when we rounded a regular seller's table. I noticed that there were a few new dolls put out, including a Descendants Mal. Initially I was drawn to Mal, but then this beauty caught the corner of my eye. Immediately I scooped her up and reveled in her dazzling looks. I could tell that she was a collector doll of sorts, based on the quality of her ensemble and her body mold. This "model muse" body is really only used for collector type Barbies. I wasn't entirely sure what line she was marketed for, or if I had previously encountered her during research. Either way, she was just three dollars. I thought this was a bargain for such a glamorous gal. I also had a hunch the outfit was her original one, since it matched her attached jewelry. Once at home, I set out to research birthstone dolls. Her necklace and bracelet reminded me of the birthstone jewelry sets my parents used to get my sister and I for Easter. Within a minute, I tracked down this doll's identity. It was perplexing after that though, because I had to sort out whether she was Miss Garnet or Miss Ruby. Both dolls and their ensembles appear to be identical (their dogs are the most notable difference). But after comparing several photo samples, I came to the conclusion that Miss Ruby had a hint of pink eye shadow, whereas Miss Garnet has a silver shimmer. I was a bit bummed when I realized my gal had to be Miss Garnet, since my mom's birthstone was the ruby. But either way, this doll is a knockout, and one of the prettiest dolls in my collection by far!
Rainbow trout are our usual catch (& release), and the bigger the better. Hubby found a nice one in amongst the big browns. His title of "King Fisher", was confirmed that day.
Scoop 3D digger cake for a 2nd birthday party. This was so much fun to make for a lovely family. I used inspiration from the cartoon and a cake by Elite cake designs.
The sliced Portobello mushrooms were the first items to come off the grill. The tomatoes and zucchini took a bit longer as did the shrimp. Of course, I kept an eye out for the steaks: visually, with a digital temperature probe, with the spatula to see if they were sticking, and finally by cutting into them. I'd rather do a lot of testing to make sure they turn out right than ruin good meat. These were thick tenderloins that took a bit longer than the guidebook said. I pull them off when they start to look and feel right and send them back for a little more time if they are too rare, but I won't let them be overcooked.
Former Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge and Restaurant located at 110 Seneca Rd. in Greensboro,NC. The motor lodge is currently operating under the name My Choice Extended Stay while the restaurant is currently occupied by an independently owned restaurant operating under the name Gold Star Diner. The motor lodge retained the HJ brand until the early 2000s although the restaurant dropped the Howard Johnson's name during the mid 1990s. The motor lodge still has much of its original exterior appearance although the gate lodge itself was "squared off" in the late 1990s and operated in recent years as a Days Inn and a Knights Inn before becoming unbranded. The restaurant still retains much its original exterior appearance although the interior was a sight to behold. This (former) HoJo's restaurant has the LAST known complete dairy bar backdrop! Each of the iconic 28 flavors of Howard Johnson's Ice Cream is etched into the glass mirrors for customers to gaze at when ordering their favorite scoop! I was at a loss for words when I looked through the windows of the restaurant which was closed on the day of my visit to the property and saw the mirrored backdrop in full form behind a few food storage containers. I am really hoping that by posting these photos someone will attempt to make contact with the owner of the property and inquire about preserving what is likely the last HJ mirrored backdrop. I wasn't able to successfully speak with the person at the motor lodge as English was not their first language and they along with many of the people wandering around the complex didn't appear to enjoy my presence especially with a camera in hand.
