Sep 22 four student volunteers from the Physics Dept’s Outreach Group joined the Chemistry Dept’s Outreach Group for “An Evening of Science” in front of the French Science Building. Using demonstrations, the students explained two topics they learned in mechanics, Newton’s 3rd Law and Waves.

I went along to the Science is Vital rally outside the treasury. Lots of good speakers to raise awareness about the potential funding cuts to science coming up.

Profs and Pints is a series of events run by Scitech to discuss topical science issues on couches with a few cold ones rather than in lecture theatres with a glass of lukewarm water.

 

Profs and Pints #2 covered whether technology and censorship have revolutionised the terror game, to an eager audience who were keen to hear about the changing face of security.
