It was difficult to make this photo. A tripod was required. Light came from a beam from below. The view was narrowed by a grid. After several attempts I had captured this panorama view.

Schwerin Castle (also known as Schwerin Palace, German: Schweriner Schloss), is a schloss located in the city of Schwerin, the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state, Germany. It is situated on an island in the city's main lake, Lake Schwerin.
For centuries, the castle was the home of the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg and later Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Today parts of it serve as the residence of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state parliament (German: Landtag), other parts are open for tourists.
In der mecklenburgischen Stadt Schwerin steht ein wahrlich märchenhaftes Schloss. Die erste Erwähnung der Burg stammt aus dem Jahr 973. Der Bau der Burg wurde 1857 abgeschlossen. Über viele Jahrhunderte war es Sitz der Herzöge und Großherzöge von Mecklenburg. Das heutige Schloss gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Bauwerke des romantischen Historismus in Europa. Aufgrund seines romantischen Aussehens und seiner Magnetwirkung auf Besucher wird es oft als „Neuschwanstein des Nordens“ bezeichnet.
Heute ist es Sitz des Landtages des norddeutschen Bundeslandes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe
The Mecklenburg city of Schwerin is home to a truly fairytale castle. The first mention of the castle dates back to 973. Construction of the castle was completed in 1857. For many centuries it was the seat of the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg. Today's castle is considered one of the most important buildings of romantic historicism in Europe. Due to its romantic appearance and its magnetic effect on visitors, it is often referred to as the "Neuschwanstein of the North".
Today it is the seat of the state parliament of the northern German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. UNESCO World Heritage Site

Schloss Schwerin - Die Bebauung der Schlossinsel begann ca. 941 mit einem Burgwall. Im 16. Jahrhundert entstand dann das Residenzschloss und wurde später noch erweitert und renoviert.

Das auf der Schlossinsel im Stadtzentrum von Schwerin gelegene Bauwerk ist das bekannteste und prächtigste der über zweitausend Schlösser und Herrenhäuser in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Beispiele des Romantischen Historismus in Europa.. Es gehört mit den einstigen Herzogsschlössern von Güstrow, Ludwigslust und Neustrelitz zu den Hauptresidenzen in Mecklenburg.

The Dukes of Schwerin established their residence here in 1348. Albert II of Mecklenburg (1318-1379) built a castle here in the fourteenth century. He built his house on a spot where a fortification had already existed in the tenth century.
Nineteenth century
Under Duke Frederick II of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1717-1785), the court moved to Ludwigslust Castle. In 1837, Schwerin Castle was put back into use as a residence. Paul Frederik (1800-1842) started rebuilding the now somewhat dilapidated castle. A large part of Schwerin Castle has been used by the parliament of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern since 1990. Extensive renovations were needed to make the building suitable for this.
