Einige Exemplare des deutlich größeren Grünspechts leben in nahegelegenen Streuobstwiesen. Ihn dort zu fotografieren ist wegen seiner großen Fluchtdistanz nicht möglich, es sei denn aus großer Entfernung.
Noch vor einigen Jahren war auch er regelmäßiger Besucher meines Gartens. In diesem Jahr habe ich ihn zum ersten Mal gesehen und vom Raum aus durch die Scheibe fotografiert.
Some specimens of the much larger green woodpecker live in nearby orchards. It is not possible to photograph him there because of his great escape distance, unless from a great distance.
A few years ago he was also a regular visitor to my garden. This year I saw him for the first time and photographed it from the room through the pane.

Seit genau fünf Jahren hatte ich in meinem Garten keinen Bergfink mehr gesehen. Ich konnte es kaum glauben, aber es gibt sie doch noch ...
Das Bild habe ich aus ca. 15 m Entfernung aus der Hand durch die Scheibe fotografiert und stark gecroppt.

I sometimes travel by trains and coaches and take photos with longer shutter speeds. Thereby the world outside is blurred, one sees the dirt on the window, the reflexions and sometimes the world is askew...
Ich reise manchmal in Zügen und Bussen und mache Photos mit längeren Verschlußzeiten.
Dadurch ist die Welt da draußen verwischt, man sieht den Schmutz auf der Scheibe, die Reflexionen und manchmal ist die Welt schief ...
Then the sun broke through and let the stream shine. I was so moved (and in a hurry to take a picture of this moment before it's over) that I forgot to take off the polarizing filter. As a result, there were many reflections on the filter pane in this extreme backlight ... But this is precisely what creates a dreamy mood. To linger in this place in this moment - very close together with nature - these gifts brighten up everyday life and let you forget the routine for a brief moment. Let us be grateful for that.
Dann brach die Sonne durch und ließ den Bach erstrahlen. Ich war so ergriffen (und in Eile diesen Moment abzulichten bevor er vorbei ist), daß ich vergaß den Polfilter abzumachen. Dadurch kam es in diesem extremen Gegenlicht zu vielen Reflektionen auf der Scheibe des Filters... Aber gerade dadurch kommt eine verträumte Stimmung auf. An diesem Ort in diesem Augeblick zu verweilen - ganz nah zusammen mit der Natur - diese Geschenke hellen den Alltag auf und lassen für einen kurzen Moment die Routine vergessen. Lasst uns dafür dankbar sein.
Es war furchtbar schwer die Eisbären Kinder zu fotografieren. Man durfte nur im Abstand von 1,5 Meter an der Anlage stehen. Die guten Plätze waren natürlich ruckzuck weg und so musste man sehen, wie man entweder durch die Scheibe oder über die Scheibe hinweg Fotos ergatterte. Nicht einfach, wenn man nicht besonders groß ist *lach*
Allerdings wurde jeder der zulange an einem Platz verharrte von sehr netten Scouts aufgefordert weiter zu gehen.
It was terribly hard to photograph the polar bears children. One was only allowed to stand at a distance of 1.5 meters at the exhibit. The good places were of course ricky tick away and so you had to see how you could get photos either through the windowpane or across the windowpane. Not easy if you're not particularly tall *laugh*
However, anyone who stayed in one place for too long was asked by very nice scouts to go further.
Mango und Heidelbeeren in Sahne püriert, Mandarinenscheibe und ab ins Gefrierfach. Nach dem Gefrieren mit einem kleinen Kugelausstecher auf einer weißen Scheibe plaziert, garniert mit einer Mandarinenscheibe, Heidelbeeren und einer Chillischote e voilà, fertig ist das Dessert!

Mango and blueberries pureed in cream, tangerine slice and off to the freezer. After freezing with a small ball cutter placed on a white slice, garnished with a slice of mandarin, blueberries and a chilli pepper e voilà, the dessert is ready!

Mangue et myrtilles en purée dans la crème, la tranche de mandarine et au congélateur. Après la congélation à l'aide d'un petit coupe-boule placé sur une tranche blanche, garnie d'une tranche de mandarine, de bleuets et d'un piment fort voilà, le dessert est prêt !

Stieglitz - Euopean Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)
While I was joining a telephone conference suddenly that European Goldfinch was landing on the tree in front of my office window starting staring at me. Coincidentally my camera was standing on the tripod near me, equipped with the right lens. So I took it quickly and made that photo through the closed window. This was the first time, that I saw a bird of that kind in nature. What an unexpected luck.
Während einer Telefonkonferenz landete plötzlich dieser Stieglitz auf dem Baum vor menem Bürofenster und begann mich anzustarren. Meine Kamera stand zufällig auf dem Stativ und war mit dem richtigen Objektiv ausgestattet. Also hab ich sie schnell zu mir her geholt und durch die Scheibe dieses Foto gemacht. Das war der erste Vogel dieser Art, den ich in der Natur gesehen habe, was für ein unerwartetes Glück.

Sonne. Die Quelle des Lichts in der Kunst

Claude Monets Gemälde Impression, Sonnenaufgang von 1872, das dem Impressionismus seinen Namen gab, zeigt die rote Scheibe der Morgensonne als Brennpunkt der Komposition. Das Gemälde ist Ausgangspunkt der Ausstellung Sonne. Die Quelle des Lichts in der Kunst, die sich der Ikonographie der Sonne von der Antike bis in die Gegenwart widmet. Das Gemälde, das zur Sammlung des Musée Marmottan gehört und nur äußerst selten außerhalb von Paris zu sehen ist, wird für die ersten acht Ausstellungswochen in Potsdam gezeigt werden.
Claude Monet's painting Impression, Sunrise from 1872, which gave Impressionism its name, shows the red disc of the morning sun as the focal point of the composition. The painting is the starting point of the exhibition Sun. The Source of Light in Art, which is dedicated to the iconography of the sun from antiquity to the present. The painting, which belongs to the collection of the Musée Marmottan and is extremely rarely seen outside Paris, will be shown in Potsdam for the first eight weeks of the exhibition.

My beloved red onion, you always give my salad the right spiciness. Your relish also refines other stews made from vegetables or meat roasted in the pan. I definitely don't want to do without you. Even if I have to tickle you a little with the knife every now and then – please don't resent the cutting – I will always be very careful. Please stay with me, my dear.
Well, all right – that should just be a small declaration of love for a vegetable that I really appreciate: the red onion. (And no, I didn't cry – I know the trick and didn't breathe through my nose ;-) ...)

Meine liebe rote Zwiebel, Du gibst meinem Salat immer die rechte Schärfe. Deine Würze verfeinert unter anderem auch andere Schmorgerichte aus Gemüse oder in der Pfanne gebratenes Fleisch ergänzt Du hervorragend. Ich möchte auf gar keinen Fall auf Dich verzichten. Auch wenn ich Dich leider ab und zu mit dem Messer ein wenig kitzeln muss – nimm mir bitte das Schneiden nicht übel – ich werde immer sehr vorsichtig sein. Bitte bleib bei mir, meine Liebe.
Also, na gut – das sollte nur eine kleine Liebeserklärung an ein Gemüse werden, das ich wirklich sehr schätze: die rote Zwiebel. (Und nein, ich habe nicht geheult – ich kenne den Trick und habe nicht durch die Nase geatmet ;-) ... )
