Day 13/365. Today's shot was tough. It's hard taking a photo of an appointment book and not making it look like a funeral home guest book. Anyway, that book contains my entire life. Despite the fact that I have a Blackberry, Outlook, and numerous other things to help me schedule myself, my preferred method is still, to this day, the week-in-view leather-bound appointment book. When 2011 is over, this will go right on the shelf next to my others

...and to think our last gig was just a week ago.

This week, I'm scheduled to record Seven Shots at the studio. We're busy

recording tracks for our first EP called "No Reason", a 6-track CD that

contains original songs written, performed and recorded by my band. Why No

Reason? It's because there is no exact theme for the compilation. There

wasn't even a plan to form a band. The songs took shape because we felt

things at a certain point in our lives without even thinking of what the

music should sound like or what genre do we fit in. I must admit that being

in a band wasn't a lifelong dream even though I've been involved with music

all my life. I was invited to an impromptu jamming by my then blockmate Miwa

(bass) one Sunday afternoon and we all scheduled weekly jammings thereafter

until we got invited to play at a friend's party. After that breakthrough

gig, we discovered how much we loved what we were doing and how much we

enjoyed each other's company. One thing led to another and we started

writing our own songs, playing at bars around the metro and recording our

own music. 3 years after the first jamming, we're still here and releasing a

self-produced EP. Hopefully we get to do this for a very very long time.

I made this simple white board schedule at the beginning of the summer. It helped my boys keep track of our activities and know what snacks were available for them to choose from. Love how easy it was! To see more about how it was made along with close up photos visit my blog at scraplifters.blogspot.com/2011/05/weekly-schedule.html
