A bumblebee, its front half covered in pollen, rests on a daffodil bloom in Durham, signaling that Spring has arrived. On March 20, 2010, at precisely 1:32 P.M. EDT, the Sun crossed directly over the Earth's equator. This moment is known as the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere.
I bought a lovely bunch of chard at the farmer's market (along with the scapes) and had plenty of milk so I gave this recipe a try. I think I could have used more seasoning, but it was good.
Derelict trading post homestead at the foot of the Sani Pass in KZN's Drakensberg Mountains
The Sani Pass is the only vehicle route over the Drakensberg escarpment and into the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. It is a spectacular 4x4 track twisting and snaking its way through the rocky cliffs to the top of the world. Before the 1950's, it was a trail for pack animals to carry goods through to the isolated town of Mokhotlong in Eastern Lesotho. Now, the road carries 4x4 vehicles, though the odd donkey and horse can still be seen plodding slowly up the steep route

Re:scape was a uniquely creative event giving shape and voice to young people’s dreams and ideas.
