A bit late on the upload, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARI!

I have just signed up with these guys (one week ago). Just a few days later this email....so I did a search and found a very interesting discussion on DPC.

The reason why I am posting this here is to raise the awareness and open the discussion. It would be interesting to hear about your experiences...positive / negative.

Photolaureates, Pic.com, Poet Laureates are all a scam run by the same organization……..if you’d sent them a pic of you’re a$$ you would have got the same letter….it’s called Vanity Publishing

BTW - I have just visited this tree again and to my disappointment discovered that some branches are now broken off. Bloody vandals....can't they select their firewood somewhere else? ANGER ANGER

Elena is 30 with her birthday on May 27th. Height is 5,7 and weight 54 kg. She lives in Kirov. She has finished medical university and worked as the second surgeon in a small clinic for 3 years.

She is single with neither children, nor boyfriend and sometimes feels very lonely. It’s difficult to know why “her” pictures appear in scam forums.

Her father cleared off when her mother was pregnant, and so was brought up by just her mother who has since died.

She never got round to asking me for money

(Project 365 Day 314)

Today I fell for a phishing scam. :( A friend of mine sends me a link via Yahoo IM asking me to check out some geocities link. I click on it, and I get a Yahoo 360 sign-in page. "Strange that you'd need to sign in to see a geocities page, but Yahoo does own geocities, and I haven't been there in a while," I think.

So I put in my username/password and just get a Yahoo 360 homepage. Weird. I IM my friend to ask what the deal is, but he doesn't reply. I'm in the middle of working, so I quickly get distracted by other duties and don't think about it much.

A while later, I get a reply from my friend, along the lines of, "Huh?" Turns out he never sent me the link! "Crap!" I think. "I'm a doofus! I just fell for a phishing scam!" My friend had gotten the same link from one of HIS friends, and so I bet the bad guys have a program that recorded his password when he typed it into that bogus page, then logged in to his Yahoo IM account and spammed it to everyone on his buddy list.

It's quite insidious, because you're tempted to trust links your friends send you, and because this doesn't require any spyware on your computer; it's all done over the web.

So again, people, don't be an idiot like me. Think twice before putting your password in a page that asks for it!

Oh, and needless to say, I immediately reported the page to Yahoo (and it's been taken down now), changed my Yahoo password, and then changed the password in the various other places I use that same password, just in case. I also emailed everyone in my Yahoo IM buddy list to warn them, just in case my account sent them the bogus URL, too. Pain in the ass.

...like every where in the world, tourists are easy prey...

After a long hot day in Athens I decided to take a taxi back to my hotel instead of getting the bus - this guy spun me all sorts of tall tales, showed me documents supporting his lies which unfortunately I couldn't read as they were all in Greek and drove me to the suburbs and dropped me off in the middle of nowhere, not at all where I wanted to be...

He tricked me out of 50 euros by switching notes for a 10 euro note and creating an atmosphere of tension, and then tried to drive off with the rest of my money... when he saw me get my camera out he reversed and returned some of the money.before shooting off down a side street... his license plate was TAB 2423.

I reported him to the police who claimed they couldn't do anything; reported him to the transport police who took my statement reluctantly and have written to the Greek consumers association and taxi association... hopefully he will get a telling off - so if you are in Athens - or elsewhere - please watch out for evil taxi drivers :(

First for 2014. I bombed this name between 86-88 but never pieced it till now. Big ups Tors, Disk, Fuzz, Mark Kit, Plot, Dvise Roske, Sur, Prins, Cab 69, Stue, Flash, Snupe, Jasper and Skeme.

Much love to my crews RFK, FAL, MG and DIA.

I received this message today. It’s a scam. This is a message for my Flickr friends to be aware. The account is under the name of Rob Bonaldi.

Fraudsters are making bogus calls to victims, claiming to be phoning from a GMP police station, and demanding that the victim transfers money into a bank account.

The fraudsters are able to use a genuine GMP police station telephone number – a scam called 'spoofing'.

Remember – never give out your personal details or bank information to anyone you do not know or trust. If you suspect a scam contact Action Fraud at crowd.in/AgRfRe

Illustration of a famous nigerian scam : the owners of this house had written "This house is not for sale" on the front for avoid scam. Some people in Nigeria try to sell old and desert houses to desinformed customers.

Beware: (February 12, 2025)

Today I received a very official looking email reporting to be from the “DMCA Compliance Team”. The message had been sent as a Flickr message from “gck6vwnkzi” flickr account. The message did not state which image was supposedly in violation of copyright but did contain a link to download a PDF. I did some investigation and found that this had a high probability of being a Phishing Scam.

If you receive this type of message “do not download” the PDF. I sent a message back to the sender stating that I do not open unsolicited links from strangers and to send me a flickr link to the image in question. I have not had a response.

www.flickr.com/photos/184133722@N04/

et

www.flickr.com/photos/193116254@N07/with/51214942003/

@mitiés à toutes et tous.

While browsing the web looking for information about my stereo views, I often come across a suite of one of my stereoviews when it comes to sceneries or a different version.

A colorized version that I have in black and white or otherwise colorized and a lot of curiosity related to stereoscopy attracts my eye.

At first I recorded everything, and let’s say that my filing system must not be up to date because I never find them when I need them...

On the other hand I find myself with thousands of stereos in files that I have no idea of what led me to record them one day....

So I decided to try to play my memory alone, with some handwritten notes as well as tell you that it was a total fiasco and without appeal!

So I will try if Flickr allows me to save here all the documents related to one of my stereoviews presented on :

www.flickr.com/photos/184133722@N04/

&

www.flickr.com/photos/193116254@N07/with/51214942003/

A shortcut to the original will return you here.

www.flickr.com/photos/187371730@N02/with/51298812180/

In no case will I put the coordinates of the merchant site.

Only the blogs and references of the museums will be able to appear.

Some go to a lot of trouble to «blur/ Hide» their photos .

They are all copyright-free having exceeded the time of copyright!

One can find to download in all the universities of the world that have a memory and photographic department. In the same way, some museums and libraries also leave this right subject to commercial non-exploitation.Try by region or often is preserved part of the history of this one, multiplied by country...

In fact only dealers are not at all ready to let you download... But like me you know as well as in computer science many things are possible! As for the use of all these resources, to make anaglyphs, and especially a documentary source that Allows to date and put a name on the photographer of your personal collection of stereoviews.

Nothing will ever replace the vision of an original print via a stereoscope, and there as they say in France : «Y a pas photo ! » ( Understanding it is a given.)

so i found this cell phone at work.

it was likely dropped by an audience member seeing a show. the battery was dead, so i turned it in, and it sat in the box office for 2 months... its a nice cell phone, and i suspect that the person either had insurance, or was rich enough that they just got a new one.. so it was given to me to do whatever i wanted with it. i figured, ebay right?

UGH. for the 3rd time in a row, the phone has sold to an ebay scammer. essentially what happens is the auction closes, and then i get a series of emails in broken english explaining that they wish to ship the phone to Nigeria, and will include an extra $100, then i get a fake email from paypal saying the funds have been transferred and once i ship the phone and give them a tracking number, paypal will release the money... obviously bullshit... but now for the 3rd time, the same scam. its getting really frustrating, esp since it costs me money to list things on ebay.

this is also why, i suspect, my debit card was canceled by my bank last week. i just want to sell this damn phone... i need the money, and im selling it for literally half price.
