for the sake of study...this is the scalp of a European man...the head of his child is seen too ( his mom is Moroccan)...end of study !
Poor old Pumpkin hadn't had her scalp attached to her head properly for nearly 2 years. I rather stupidly cut off the entire flange as I had read somewhere that it wasn't needed... MISTAKE!
Luckily someone on TIB came to my rescue and said that white "tacky" glue was suitable for sticking down a Blythe scalp. A quick Googling informed me that "tacky" glue, which I had previously not heard of, is in fact known as good old PVA glue here in the UK.
To stick down Pumpkin's scalp after her second reroot, I stuck pins through the flange gaps in the scalp dome into the soft plastic of the scalp piece. Then I secured 6 strong elastic bands around the scalp and scalp dome, and spread PVA glue into the flange gaps with a paintbrush.
I left the whole arrangement to seal overnight, and thankfully when I removed the pins and elastic bands, I'd found that the scalp was stuck down pretty well, although I did have to go over a few loose bits with more glue.
So, moral of the story... DON'T cut off the flange piece of a Blythe scalp, but if you do, you'd better have some pins and glue handy. ;)
Hhmm...I'm leaning toward the Aubrey scalp. If I do go with that one, I will be keeping the Ashlette one though, and not re-rooting it. :)
