I'm happy with the end product of this image. This is a multi shot panorama of the Sydney Water Corporation offices at 1 Smith St Parramatta. I really like the building but it epitomises the issue I have with modern city design, that is the lack of human scale.
I have uploaded the full res images so you can click and see the lady walking past the building. Compare here to the size of the tower. Now the scale is a little warped as I have shot this pano from only about 20m away from the tower but it shows the conflict between humans and 15 or more storey towers.
Parramatta needs some more investigation as a shooting destination. I see myself here again soon.
"Lauded for their versatility and the speed with which they can be put on, scale surcoats are a common sight on the field. Durable, but still highly flexible, they are popular amongst cavalry and footmen alike."
Having way too much fun with these. I've wanted to make them for /years/... but SL was never really capable of pulling them off like I wanted. Even with sculpts. Now? Can't wait.
This is a work in progress series of shots that I thought some of you might find interesting.
The far right is the base model before coloring, the results of said coloring being the one to it's left. That copy is rendered with lights, shine, shadow, etc. All the wonderful things that will never show up in SL!
Fortunately, I am able to bake a lot of those details into a solid texture, which is the "Texture only, no rendering" piece.
Finally, the last one, (far left) is the result of cleaning up the texture in photoshop and adding some of the modular elements made for the other surcoats. The result is one configuration of a hundred thousand or so possibilities.
As I will never in a million years make nor want to make a hundred thousand textures, even if I could afford it- the final set will be much more simple by necessity. However, I am going to experiment with commisions with this piece. So if you want one with Pink scales, a white belt, cloth instead of chainmail, no armor plates, with blue cloth that has gold trim.... with heraldry of your choice on the chest?
Can be done. I've made the entire piece to be modular from the ground up. It will however come with a cost that reflects the time and work it takes to make a custom variant.
So, we'll see!
1:12 scale Chinoiserie Roombox by Ken Haseltine : Chinoiserie, a French term, signifying "Chinese-esque", and pronounced chi•noi•se•rie. : a style in art (as in decoration) reflecting Chinese qualities or motifs; also: an object or decoration in this style.

My second BLW order contained this INT 67210-12 in AGPX 96232 and this INT 67217-16 in GACX 14342. The AGP car is now sold out at BLW.
So I was going to create a building instructions for my good old Lotus Exige, but before that - I had to fix some bits of it. For instance - as some of you mentioned - the shape should be more like (front, middle, rear) = (very wide, narrow, wide). Another issue was that it was a stud or two too short for the scale 1:15. My initial thoughts were - ok, let's add some bits here and there and it's done. Turned out it's not that easy to rebuild something, so it turned out a whole new project. So - here are few pics of my atchievement.
I wish I had more steady hands. Tripod shots are wonderful, but I got used to finding the angles going hand-held.
I'd strongly consider a cyborg arm upgrade...
BLW N Scale found some Premier Editions Special Run Models that go back I guess sometime to the early 80's. I saw them listed on BLW's website before sunrise on Monday morning and quickly placed an order for four cars. Here are the two trailers I purchased; I already have these but have use for two more. I couldn't get these trailers to focus well due to outside conditions. Here is GOODYEAR 40 Ft. trailer #2144. I don't see a road number printed on it. My NASCAR Race Car train has 122 race cars on it. One 40 foot trailer load of tires isn't going to be enough for all those race cars so I got this second trailer for that. I can always use private owner Atlas 24 foot long trailers.
