Two guys from facebook had an interesting talk about how they scale their platform to several hundred million users.
This railroad scale house, in West Kentucky Wildlife Management Area east of the Paducah site, was used in the 1950s to weigh Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant freight. Workers preserved the old scale because of its potential historical significance. The scale house was demolished.
Actually, while Out Run 2006: Coast 2 Coast does indeed have a Ferrari 250 included in the game, it's the longer and sleeker Ferrari 250 GTO, not the classic 250GT California Spider, as "seen" in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (in replica form), which I am holding in front of the TV screen.
When I was a teenager, my teachers believed that by now, the United States would be using the metric system for everything. It seems we converted partly, but stalled. Now we have an interesting blend of two systems!
Fortunately, I did study French...

The old scales actually still worked, amazing really, although there was no needle on the face to actually display the weight, you could actually stand on the plate and see the internals on the face working.

Leica-R Summilux 50
Leica does a fine job. In dim light, it's the best lens for subjects like this.

The rather less well known logistic support truck with Reg.No. EN6893 operated by China Motor Bus caught my interest. So I modified a Tomytec truck that has the same cab into the CMB EN6893. I only found one photo of the truck, so not sure how it looks on the hidden sides. But judging from the photo, it has a large liftgate at the back, so it should be easy to guess how it looks at the rear.
This truck was modified to a tow truck after New World First Bus took over China Motor Bus franchised bus service.
Releasing the Concrete Canvas Tiny House (CFTH) Type 3 1:10 Scale Model from the suspension frame. The model was suspended upside down, because no inflation method that would be secure enough was tough of. Of course this applies to the Scale Model. The actual Concrete Canvas Outer Shell would be inflated by expanding PU insulation foam. The model was filled with 4 inflatable beach balls and hung upside down, so just in case the beach balls deflate, the final hardened structure would still be usable and resemble Type 3 CCTH.
Iron Rattler, Six Flags Fiesta Texas
It's always neat looking to the left and right during this climb and seeing the ground below at two different elevations.
Scale used in art is based on the angle to make something appear larger or smaller. I think this photo is a great example of it because the hands are closer making them look larger giving it a dream like quality. The photo is called, "Me and Tennessee" (I look this photo), and without the scale use in this picture the idea would not have fully been reached across.
