Staircases basically completed.....YEAH! Looking forward to moving on to something else after spending a week on these.
I'm happy with the end product of this image. This is a multi shot panorama of the Sydney Water Corporation offices at 1 Smith St Parramatta. I really like the building but it epitomises the issue I have with modern city design, that is the lack of human scale.
I have uploaded the full res images so you can click and see the lady walking past the building. Compare here to the size of the tower. Now the scale is a little warped as I have shot this pano from only about 20m away from the tower but it shows the conflict between humans and 15 or more storey towers.
Parramatta needs some more investigation as a shooting destination. I see myself here again soon.
From left: 1/6th scale. Hello Kitty Re-ment scale in 1/6th scale (from Hello Kitty Loves Cooking set). 1/12th scale, although it's as big as the 1/6th ones, from Michaels craft store. 1/12th scale I distressed. 1/12th scale from MINISSU on Etsy.

One of the greatest actors who ever lived deserves to be immortalized in a 1/6 scale figure. This custom made figure is based on the 1980 Popeye movie starring the late Robin Williams. This figure was created through the collaboration of Michael Garver from Irongate Artisan for the Sculpts which were Painted by Peter Walker. The Clothing set is custom tailored by Geewhiz Customs. Hope you enjoy our little tribute to Robin Williams!
Just a slightly better shot of the Tornet, without its weapons.
This is in the process of being stripped for bits and pieces.

Sydney Government operated (Urban Transit Authority back then) Leyland Atlantean double decker and Leyland Leopard single decker. Both were favourites of mine as a kid.

1:12 scale Chinoiserie Roombox by Ken Haseltine : Chinoiserie, a French term, signifying "Chinese-esque", and pronounced chi•noi•se•rie. : a style in art (as in decoration) reflecting Chinese qualities or motifs; also: an object or decoration in this style.
"Lauded for their versatility and the speed with which they can be put on, scale surcoats are a common sight on the field. Durable, but still highly flexible, they are popular amongst cavalry and footmen alike."
Having way too much fun with these. I've wanted to make them for /years/... but SL was never really capable of pulling them off like I wanted. Even with sculpts. Now? Can't wait.
This is a work in progress series of shots that I thought some of you might find interesting.
The far right is the base model before coloring, the results of said coloring being the one to it's left. That copy is rendered with lights, shine, shadow, etc. All the wonderful things that will never show up in SL!
Fortunately, I am able to bake a lot of those details into a solid texture, which is the "Texture only, no rendering" piece.
Finally, the last one, (far left) is the result of cleaning up the texture in photoshop and adding some of the modular elements made for the other surcoats. The result is one configuration of a hundred thousand or so possibilities.
As I will never in a million years make nor want to make a hundred thousand textures, even if I could afford it- the final set will be much more simple by necessity. However, I am going to experiment with commisions with this piece. So if you want one with Pink scales, a white belt, cloth instead of chainmail, no armor plates, with blue cloth that has gold trim.... with heraldry of your choice on the chest?
Can be done. I've made the entire piece to be modular from the ground up. It will however come with a cost that reflects the time and work it takes to make a custom variant.
So, we'll see!
