St. Mary's Catholic Church was being repaired in the summer and fall of 2009. At the same time the City of Grand Rapids was redoing the street in front of the church, so I had to settle for this side view.

In the old part of Rome they have a rule that scaffolding must be covered by a large photo of the building behind. But there is a lot of money in been allowed to advertise from the scaffoldig towards the big central streets and squares. So on this church i Rome, they found a slightly strange compromise. A very nice cover with an nice photo and a field in the middle of it all with space for advertising.

I am interested in cover of scaffolding because it is a fun part of my work at an architect working with renovation off buildings in the city.

Stillads med reklame

I den gamle del af rom har de en regel om at stilladser skal dækkes med et stor foto af bygningen bag ved. Men der er mange penge i at få lov at reklamere mod de store centrale gader og pladser, så på denne kirke har de fundet et lidt pudsigt kompromis: En meget pæn inddækning med et flot foto og så et felt midt i det hele med plads til reklamer.

Jeg kan ikke lade være med at lægge mærke til inddækninger på stilladser, fordi det er en sjov del af mit arbejder med at renovere huse i byen.

This shows the work going on to try and restore whats left of Cadzow Castle.

This scaffolding is holding up the facade of the building on Passeig de Sant Joan.

Inside there is nothing bar a 40 foot hole for the foundations.
