Flouro lighting on the ceiling of the little walkway protecting pedestrians from stuff falling off a tall city building under construction.

Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 08/06/2024 -- Multiple !!

Well here goes for the " Multiple " challenge and seeing as this is more or less my view now I thought I might as well make use of it - the light with the sun on it's way down helped and made a stark silhouette and a quick trip to the flickr photo editor finished off the job . Not sure how long it will be there - about how long it takes to build another half a house again I suppose !!

I did take a later shot of the trollies as seen in the first comment box , but decided to stick with my first capture here .

As for a bit of music - we have a scaffold here and even the pulley has a look of a gibbet so a quick nip back in time to the days of Led Zeppelin and " Gallows Pole " !!

Bamboo scaffolding is a type of scaffolding made from bamboo and widely used in construction work for centuries...Bamboo Scaffolding was first introduced into the building industry in Hong Kong immediately after colonization in the 1800s. It was widely used in the building of houses and multi-story buildings... It was also useful for short-term construction projects, such as framework for temporary sheds for Cantonese Opera performances (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bamboo_scaffolding)

The building shown is Hong Kong Space Museum established 1980. It is museum of astronomy and space science in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong_Space_Museum)

A nice glow over the Castle that night....shame about the scaffolding though !

Sadly scaffolding for building/repair work on one of the houses prevented me from getting the classic view of Gold Hill. Mist in the valley was a bonus and not having visited Shaftesbury in Dorset ever before it was a beautiful location. { No Hovis delivery bicycles to be seen here!! }

Sunlight was challenging so took 5 images bracketed and processed in LightRoom 6.1 to bring out the details.

“Scaffolding”

One of the joys of getting up early in the morning and driving on quiet country roads to find wildlife to photograph is discovering creature behaviors that solve some questions I have had for years.

For example, I have often wondered how fruit on trees can be eaten even when it is ten feet or more above ground. This photo shows one method that deer use as this young buck is starting to put his scaffolding together for fruit foraging in the fall.

A portion of a huge warehouse being constructed near DeKalb, Illinois

This picture has been captured in Germany's second largest city, Hamburg. The beautiful Speicherstadt is the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations. It is located in the port of Hamburg within the HafenCity quarter and was built from 1883 to 1927.

As of 2009, both the district and the surrounding area are under redevelopment. As the first site in Hamburg, it was awarded the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site on 5 July 2015.

In post-processing, I had to remove a huge scaffolding along the buildings on the right side. Feel free to check it out on:

The scaffolding is now up, ready for the new roof.

The renovation works being carried out at Canterbury Cathedral leave parts of the building partially covered with scaffolding.

I quite liked the shadows/colours.

I liked this view as there's nothing but scaffolding visible.
