One of my neighbors coming out to greet me as I snap a photo.

♫Three little birds

Pitch by my doorstep

Singing sweet songs

Of melodies pure and true

Saying

This is my message to you-ou-ou...♪

happy sliderssunday!

A word worth saying, but never said,

is quietly tearing me apart;

A word worth listening to, but never heard,

is silently breaking my heart..

A word worth knowing but never told,

really hurts me a hundred fold;

A word you chose to be kept locked in your mind,

is like a dream you chose to be left behind..

For how can a seed turn into a tree,

if it's in a dark place where sunshine can never see?

How can a dream turn into reality?

if it's kept chained, never set free?

Oftentimes,, by the WORDS you left UNSPOKEN...~Chen Le

So, this shot has been sitting on my hard drive since I took it back in January 2017, I loved the fractured reflection and the sort of dark, surreal alternate reality it conveyed with golden glitter and distorted classic architecture. It's as if the building is saying, "Look at me" but it's not real, it's a distortion of reality taken from the surrounding buildings. Take away the reflection and it's dark building that struggles to convey power and strength, a false power and strength but alluring all the same. So it's with this in mind that it never got posted.

I decided to post it today because of some factors that seem to have come together. One is the obvious end of a four year nightmare and one has to do with me just missing a good walk in the city due to COVID. I've been looking through my archive folders at city pics that never were posted and thinking now is the time. Along this line, I was conversing with Leon, a new contact here on Flickr and was a bit surprised to find that he hadn't seen any architectural shots in my photostream. The reason goes back to not being able to get to NYC or any city for that matter since COVID started so not much architectural or travel photography in quite some time.

With this in mind it seems the time is right to post this shot.

In Greek we have a saying "every good thing, at some point ends". And that's what happened to my vacation as I am now back to "reality". At least I had wonderful time while I was visiting Aruba, a place that I have never been before. And even if it wasn't Greece, it felt like it a little. You see, in Greece many people have a tradition for their summer vacation: they pick an island and they visit it by exploring it and going to every beach it has. Aruba offered me that opportunity as it has many places to explore, lots of beautiful beaches and it's an extremely safe island overall. So if you are not a person that will just lay by the Resort's pool and have a drink, Aruba is your island. whether you explore it by making your own schedule or using a local guide, it's fun and lovely! I took this picture at the Baby beach, probably the most famous beach in the island outside the resorts area. It's a small bay, almost a lagoon, with shallow crystal clear water and very strong winds. So don't even try to set up your beach tent or umbrella. You are better off finding a divi-dive tree (called Watapana in the local Awawak language) and lay underneath it to get some shade and cool off.

Barred Owl with its dinner. Found him again a little later, sitting fat and happy in another tree digesting what I imagine is a big meal for an Owl.

The saying that the early bird gets the worm is true for Piping Plovers. Pairs that nest early are more likely to successfully raise young than those that nest later in the season.

Today my manager takes me away from Barnes. I will be moved somewhere for couple of days until I get a new placement. We sit in the station's garden for a coffee and from nowhere a little Robin appears...He is not taking bread crumbs but stands next to me and looking for some minutes..Someone passed away yesterday and we did not manage to say Good Bye each to other..Is it him who sent me a Little Robin? I strongly believe there is connection...

No more Second Guessing

Your not being dramatic

No more questioning if you are too sensitive

Your not blowing things out of proportion

No more saying sorry for doing nothing wrong

Your not the one telling lies

No more excuses

Your not imagining conversations

No more feeling like your never enough

You are worth so much more

No more thinking there is something wrong with you

Your not to blame for their actions

No more not trusting your own judgements

You trust your gut

No more staying silent......

Suddenly they appeared

but have never painted the ocean so I thought there was no better time then now.

It's never easy to lose someone that has been a big part of your life. Even if you have never really met them, you feel like you know them. Having older brothers really helped since they would bring home the records. Since 1978 (Just before my 5th birthday) I have been a big fan.

The Adventure

The weekend had been magical. Honni had never felt more relaxed or in love with their boyfriend. Spending so much time with family, in the water, and surrounded by the sweet Mediterranean air really recharged and re-energized our adventurer. But like all good moments, this one had to end too. After packing their bags, and saying their goodbyes, Honni and Melethril walked up to the front desk in the lobby and checked out.

So long Portoluna! We’ll miss you!

A small crowd of locals has gathered outside of Page, AZ, where what was announced to be the last inbound coal train to the Navajo Generating Station. There ended up being another run after this one, leaving later in the day and slipping by most buffs. I only saw one other railfan near Kayenta on the chase of the last train.

A rare occasion when a Short-eared owl not only flies close to you, but perches by your car. I was just about to pack up the car when I noticed this guy sitting on a pole right next to the parking lot.

This is a beautiful place to visit, just a shame it rained !!! we went to see the Snowdrops which were in the wooded area to the right of this photo of the lake. It was hard to hold my umbrella and my camera, the photo's I got are all spotted so I gave up and went back to the Tea rooms after walking round, on saying this I did enjoy the visit, on Tuesday.

Always good to catch up with Arthur. Mind you, I think he might have been more interested in the Tiger Snake, that I wasn't aware of at the time, as a possible dinner.

One of the more poignant photos during WWII. Taken in Penn Station in New York, year unknown. Makes you wonder what happened to them. The year and the photographer are unknown.
