Originally opened in 1921, the Lucas Theatre underwent a 12-year, $10 million dollar restoration project, and reopened on December 1, 2000.
In 2002, the theater was purchased by the Savannah College of Art and Design, which plans to incorporate the theater into its dramatic arts program.

I have made a list of 10 specific locations I want to capture Atlanta Skyline shots. I expected them all to be night shots but I got there a bit early today and liked this one so I'll post it. The night one is pretty cool too but I'll save it for another day. This is HDR which I am kinda getting addicted to recently but it isn't really that different from what it looked like - it was pretty magnificent. On the left is midtown and in the middle is downtown. I took it from the SCAD parking deck (wondering when security would come and escort me away...)
As we took a walk for ice cream, I took the chance to snap some photos of downtown Savannah during the golden hour and the blue. I like this shot because of the colors: from the neon lights on the signs and the blue of the evening sky. Leopold's did not disappoint, though I myself only partook of a few bites. I hope the Seven Samurai live up to the hype come September 22.
Excerpt from the booklet for Heritage Fiesta 2015: Dedicated to fostering creative talent, the Savannah College of Art and Design (Hong Kong) is the former North Kowloon Magistracy, which was completed in 1960. The magistracy at that time handled minor offences. With the successive closures of the magistracies on Shanghai Street in 1957 and on Gascoigne Road in 2000, North Kowloon Magistracy became the major court handling cases in Kowloon until the completion of its historical mission in 2005. Under the "Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme" of the Development Bureau, the magistracy was given a makeover in 2010. It became an institute of higher education offering arts and design courses. Its transformation earned it an Honourable Mention at the 2011 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.

I really loved the idea so I thought I would try it here in Atlanta. I decided that I would take the shots later in the day so that I could do long exposures and capture the moving traffic lights. I didn't realize it was going to take a while to edit it to make sure all of the lights connected at the joints. Hope you like it.
This is another Atlanta sunset shot, this time from SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design). I previously posted a shot taken about 30 minutes before this one which doesn't have the light streaks but I think I like better. I do like the gradation of the sky though - midtown is dark and downtown is still light. This makes 6 of the 10 Atlanta skyline shots I am planning on capturing.

Billy and I were shooting around the High Museum/SCAD campus in Atlanta when one of the students walked by while carrying her work.
I wish Y'all could have seen this in person. So there we were, standing with our cameras, and I spot this muscular, bikini-clad, almost life-sized (by Linda Hunt standards) woman floating by. It looked like some kind of mystical, golden-slippered palanquin. We looked at each other, busted out laughing, and went trotting after her for a photo.
