I am not saying that Gustavo Felipe Blanco died from eating food at Mc Donald's, but the location of his demise in the immediate proximity to the signage while rather unfortunate for Mr. Blanco was most opportunistic for me.
Vegetarian Protein Muscle Mass - Andreas Cahling Massive Vegetarian Bodybuilder. Body Building Champion.
Meat is a horrible source of protein, it is soaking with a pernicious form of iron called "heme iron" which can damage the human body and especially the liver.
Plants contain a higher quality of iron, which is better absorbed by the human body, and even faster, especially in combination with Vitamin C. Heme Iron, the kind found in meat and steak is horrible for the human male, and can cause damage.
Eating meat is also more effeminate, because unlike plants which contain only the plant form of phytoestrogens which actually PROTECT AGAINST estrogen, meat and hamburgers and steak contain huge amounts of mammalian female hormones, ractopamine, and estradiol.
Each piece of meat a man puts in his mouth is distending his belly, and giving him female hormones which is why so many meat-eaters grow flabby saggy chests and a woman's paunch-type stomach. This is often seen in BBQ Barbequed meat eaters.
Meat eaters are often obese and with flabby male love-handles. This is due to eating meat. Vegetarians do not have this problem, and have more protein and muscle mass.
Mike Tyson is also a vegan. So is heavyweight UFC Fighter Frank Mir at just shy of 300 pounds of vegetarian muscle. Cal's football 285 pound strongman linebacker is also vegetarian.
And the biggest bodybuilder in the world at 7 feet 3 inches tall and 435 pounds, is a vegetarian.

This was shot on the exterior wall of a new 24-hour diner in Decatur. But it occurs to be that if you substitute fried mushrooms for the potatoes, this would look like a typical restaurant breakfast in South Afrcia.
Maybe add another type of sausage to make it even more South African.
Blogged here.
The fried chicken bucket is in fact a Belville bucket covered with stickers. I made it for a small diorama (or a big vignette) I'm preparing for LUGPol exhibition that is going to open on the 7th of July in Cracow.

CBA (College of Business Administration) Jeddah has awarded Freshi Ice Sticks a Certificate of Appreciation for participating in Health Day Ceremony.
The cheddar horseradish and sour cream mashed potatoes along with the sauteed red onions and mushrooms were innocent bystanders.
Starting in the center of the plate you will see that these mashed potatoes are topped with garlic bacon. in the lower left hand corner I have the sauteed red onions, just above those is sliced andouille sausage. Next to that I have the sauteed mushrooms and then on the right side of the plate there is chorizo sausage
This was delicious!

Finding out that I had dangerously high cholesterol (>400 due to genetics) has made me acutely aware of how bad for you some things can be.
I wasn't sure what to say about this when I saw it so I just snapped the picture.

Well, well - there goes the diet!
India and Nepal are both primarily Hindu nations. So the cow is sacred (i.e. holy cow) and even chicken is somewhat rare. So for me this was a huge adjustment to make, as truth be told I'm a pretty regular carnivore. I ate vegetarian almost the entire time we were abroad (although I got a little adventurous by the time we hit Sri Lanka!)
When we got back to London in the morning we were pretty beat but I had one thing on my mind, and that was gorging at McDonalds. So I went there for lunch and I won't even bother telling you what I ate - it was pretty amazing (in a horrendously disgusting way). The funny thing is after having eaten vegetarian (and very healthy as well) while on holiday, it made me realize how bad this food is and that it doesn't really "satisfy."
Don't get me wrong - I'm sure I'll be going to McDonalds again sometime soon but I'll try and hold off for a few more weeks!

Our Daily Challenge ... saturated. (Won at bowls today by my husband!)
Technically, chocolate contains saturated fat, but the particular type of saturated fat – stearic acid – is unique because it does not raise blood cholesterol.
Studies show that neither dark or milk chocolate is a cholesterol concern in moderate amounts. Too much chocolate will increase kilojoule/calorie levels which can lead to overweight. Also keep in mind that other ingredients added to some chocolate candies can change their nutritional impact as well.

The majority of saturated fat in the American diet comes from processed food and snacks. The advice given in the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans is to eat fat-free / low-fat milk, low-fat cheese, and “using oil-based dressings and spreads on foods instead of those made from solid fats (e.g. butter, stick margarine, cream cheese)”
“The mixed dishes food category is the major source of saturated fats in the United States, with 35 percent of all saturated fats coming from mixed dishes, especially those dishes containing cheese, meat, or both. These include burgers, sandwiches, and tacos; pizza; rice, pasta, and grain dishes; and meat, poultry, and seafood dishes. The other food categories that provide the most saturated fats in current diets are snacks and sweets, protein foods, and dairy products.”
