Band of Horses crowd - May 31, 2010
This year seemed to be all about the audience... They are as much a part of a good (or bad) show as the performers, and often times some of the rawest energy you will ever experience.
Flag compliments of the Sufjan Stevens All American Fifty State Band (or something like that). Beer cans compliments of Molson.

I liked the view as we were crossing this bridge, which was not actually improved by a Winnebago turning in front of us. I think we were crossing the Columbia here, but I wasn't really paying attention, and I don't know where I am most of the time
Rain in the distance. It rained at least a little bit every day, but usually only in the AM, and then trailed off. Guess that's why they call it The North Wet. huh huh
I awoke early giddy with excitement to begin my first big tour of 2017. Departing Seattle before the sun rose I stopped by Madrona Park on my way out to bid my friends partaking in #CoffeeOutisde a farewell. I would be riding from Seattle to Rattlesnake Lake solo then meeting up with Ben & Tiff (cheaters!) who were getting dropped off by a family members. Together we climbed up the Iron Horse / Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail (formerly known as the John Wayne Pioneer Trail). The 2.3 mile Snoqualmie Tunnel had just opened a few days earlier and there was still some snow on the trail near the top. Americorp volunteers were still clearing trees and branches that had fallen over the winter so we followed in their snow tracks. We stumbled across another group of touring cyclists that were making their to the annual Sasquatch Festival, we made quick friends and leapfrogged each other the entire day. As the sun began to set we found some really nice campsites between the Yakima River and the trail, my Strava read 113miles for the day, I was pooped!
Son of Sasquatch (with detail views of installation and performance), 2008. Quilted plastic bag backdrop, lights, digital video projection, handmade costume and props, original performance.
Project Description:
Son of Sasquatch is both performance and sculptural installation. The character was an original creation realized in a multi-media time based performance, exploring themes of celebrity worship by spinning the legacy of the BigFoot, the mythic creature of the Pacific Northwest. Lost in Hollywood our misfit contends with identity crisis and eventual corporate sponsorship.
