Some of my earlier work when I gave night time shots a try. I had to turn those highlights down in Lightroom among other adjustments. Still not that pleased with my night photos in Santorini 2010. Hope you enjoy
I believe this is looking toward the village of Oia in Santorini. One of many pictures I took back in Sept 2010.
An Island to remember. Much of the island formed of volcanic rock, it shows the colors it has to offer.
The island was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history: the Minoan eruption (sometimes called the Thera eruption), which occurred about 3,600 years ago at the height of the Minoan civilization. The eruption left a large caldera surrounded by volcanic ash deposits hundreds of metres deep.
It is the most active volcanic centre in the South Aegean Volcanic Arc, though what remains today is chiefly a water-filled caldera. The volcanic arc is approximately 500 km (300 mi) long and 20 to 40 km (12 to 25 mi) wide. The region first became volcanically active around 3–4 million years ago, though volcanism on Thera began around 2 million years ago with the extrusion of dacitic lavas from vents around Akrotiri.

Dining near the caldera with these sea views are relaxing and layed-back. This was captured in the village of Oia.

Captured with my iPhone on the drive down from the spectacular Oia Village, perched on the Caldera Rim of the Greek island of Santorini, on our way back to the port of Piraeus. We then boarded a Tender Boat which took us back to our cruise ship anchored off shore in the Aegean Sea.

Thanks for the visit and enjoy your new week.

The village of Oia, Santorini and some of the tremendous views. On this side of the island, a hotel or resort that don't have some kind of ocean view is rare. Some of the hotels in Santorini were originally caves which transformed into homes and business over the centuries. This is how Atrina originated in the 1800s. This is the main entrance to the rental and then an infinity look down the stairs.
