Sancerre wine is wordly famous- here is its birthplace before sunrise

Celebrating the end of the week with a glass of Sincerre. "Almost" gone.....we watched the sun go down and enjoyed the last few moments of the day. "Almost" dark. Daylight Savings Time is "almost" driving us crazy. Our dog knows he eats dinner at 5:00, which is now 4:00 and as a result of eating an hour earlier, he is waking up at 5:00am instead of 6:00am because of his stomach's internal clock. I "almost" need another glass of wine!

Nothing like a chilled glass of Sancerre to finish off a day like this :D

This goes out to zoogal3, girl I could not find any quotes that would be better than your choices. You are the QUEEN. Cheers!

HBW one more time!!!!!!

Realistic representation of a Basque shepherd . This might be my favourite mural from Bayonne. I have a few more . I hope you enjoy them all. In case you want to know more about the artists , keep reading... " This fresco was produced during the “Points de Vue 2017” festival organized by Spacejunk Bayonne. We owe this fresco to the pair Sismik and Azot. Sismik alias Rémi Tournier works and lives in Toulouse. He is a versatile artist. It relies on particular techniques such as photography and computer graphics. Depending on his work with or without Azot his style may vary. Passionate about the style of writing and drawing, he navigates between figurative through modern pointillism or spontaneous writings, or even hyperrealism. Azot alias Paul Soquet lives in the Cher, in Sancerre, but it was in Toulouse that he was forged. He is a fan of painting that he wants lively and colorful. He always supports her with a spontaneous, almost instinctive approach. Over the course of his encounters, he develops a free pictorial language outside the beaten track of graffiti.

The search for walls is a pretext for exchanging and sharing moments of life with those they meet. The characters in their frescoes are mostly anonymous. Here it is a Basque shepherd. Their very particular style gives us the impression of looking at a photograph. At the bottom is written in Basque "HITZA HITZ" (What is said is said ...)

Looking down from a picnic site high up in the hills of the Sancerrois (Cher, Centre region, in central France), over vineyards, towards the hill town of Sancerre itself, on a clear evening at the end of May 2009.

The hilly Sancerrois area is located between the Pays Fort area and the Loire. Historically, it was within the northern part of the province of Berry. Due to the mixture of chalk, flint, marl, and clay in its soils, it is particularly known for the minerality of the dry white wine in its Sancerre appellation. (Some red and rosé Sancerre wines are also produced.) The vineyard slopes are often south-facing.

The historic hill town of Sancerre itself dates back to the Gallic (Celtic) period as an oppidum and was later located above a key Roman bridge over the Loire. During the Reformation and 16th-century wars of religion, it became noted as a center of Protestantism. A number of its surviving buildings are of medieval or early modern origin.

In the distance, towards the east across the Loire Valley, the rolling hills and woodland of western Nièvre (Burgundy) -- historically, the Nivernais, the area around the town of Nevers.

Please note that the political region's name when this picture was taken in 2009 was Centre, but in 2015, as a result of the merger of regions, the name was changed to Centre-Val de Loire.
