Autumn colour of a deep burgundy Thelma Maude and tangerine Winkie Whopper dahlia…. for goodness sake! Who names a flower Winkie Whopper? But hey, didn’t a clever chap once write,“a rose by any other name would smell as sweet” ? The reflection is in a small puddle about 1 meter in length in a car park. Mobile phone held upside down to get the camera lens close to the water. The small lens enables the deep DOF.

Afternoon storms again. I was just messing around with the Flickr feature on my mobile phone to achieve this look! Was not what I had in mind although!!

Took this panoramic with my Samsung Galaxy 3 yesterday. Below is the same photo using some of the photo editing features on a Flickr app on my mobile phone! I think the panoramic feature does a pretty good job. This is not the full ability of it! The storm never hit us...just gave us this scary display, some thunder and lightening then moved on!! I am glad it did! Some places in NC have gotten a foot of rain!!!

To the right, my Samsung Galaxy smartwatch. And to the left, my first ever online purchase. An Eco-Drive watch from Citizen. Late 1990s from a store in Texas.

The Pennsylvania Amish of Lancaster County are America's oldest Amish settlement, where thousands still live a centuries-old "Plain" lifestyle. Arriving in PA Dutch Country allows you to step back in time to enjoy a slower, more peaceful pace – one where the horse & buggy remains a primary form of transportation, and where windmills dot the landscape, providing power harnessed from nature. Always a vital part of Lancaster County culture, the PA Amish are involved in agriculture as well as an array of businesses and cottage industries.

Traveled to Virginia for the wedding of our friends daughter and discovered this newly exposed schoolhouse. It was overgrown and just recently had all the trees cut around it...since it was down the road along with another building I couldn't resist.

We have been admiring this crop growing all over Chowan County, NC with the bright yellow flowers so took a moment for a photo op with my daughter in her Pease Sign "Lisa Pizzeria" www.lisaspizzeria.net/# before the blooms are gone. Did not realize she had this t-shirt on till after the picture was taken! Think it is Canola! April 25, 2012.....Instagram!!!

George looking out across the pond. As you may have noticed there are several pictures of George in this spot! I wonder why?

This is the fishing line I cut from the Canada goose I rescued! The line was wrapped tightly around the poor birds neck so tight I was afraid I would not be able to get it off! People don't realize when they leave line behind it could end up killing some poor animal in the long run!

Ahh, the absence of buildings - cerebral relief.

Taken with a Samsung smartphone! A chilly December afternnoon in Edenton, NC just days after Christmas as the sun set!

I couldn't take my eyes off this lovely yellow lab this morning on the bus. I overheard the owner saying that the dog is a seizure alert canine.
