At an altitude of 3250 with great sadness we see the last breaths of the great Marmolada glacier, once here in the summer it was skiing, now only the skeletons remain
View of the courtyard from a window at the Capitoline Museums. Relief fragments from the Temple of the Hadrian (2nd Century AD) can be seen here.
Michelangelo had redesigned the entrance of the Palazzo dei Conservatori to enter into this courtyard and made it into a space for the display of important fragments of architectural sculptures from ancient Rome..

The Villa Farnesina is a Renaissance era villa built by Agostino Chigi, a very (very) rich Sienese banker, in the early 1500s. The villa was later bought by the Farnese family, whose Palazzo Farnese is just across the river.
The villa's main fame is its many frescoes. Raphael's frescoes on the ground floor of the villa: the wall fresco 'The Triumph of Galatea' and the ceiling frescoes in the loggia depicting the myths of Cupid and Psyche are perhaps the most famous paintings in the villa.

This is one of two major Jesuit churches in the centre of Rome, the other being the Gesu Church. This Baroque church stands in a small piazza bearing his name in central Rome.
The Church is dedicated to St Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus and was built between 1626 and 1650. The facade is by Carlo Maderno. Inside the church are the famous trompe l'œil (trick of the eye) frescoes by Andrea Pozzo.
